good news is, it looks like everyone can still see when artists post. i heard that brand new follows aren't going through anymore, but i'm not totally sure about that. if there is an artist you really like and you aren't able to follow them anymore, you can bookmark one of their posts and just check back every so often.

the artists i follow on this account and get alerts for i still have been getting alerts for this whole time. yokappa, born to die, maniacbox, fiz-rot, ponpu, and lilandy. all of their alerts still work.

the reason why they are not accepting communication from any instances is because of a large influx of users to the fediverse in general which has apparently tanked the servers and they're working on upgrading as fast as they can.
