why are so many homebrewers and mod/emulation devs turbo faggots?

this nifty software lets you connect 3rd party bluetooth controllers to the nintendo switch, which is awesome. a great feat in coding and super useful!

BUT IF YOU'RE RUSSIAN, it changes your controllers to yellow and blue because "glory to ukraine."

this reminds me of when call of duty warzone would tell you that black lives mattered every time you started a match. when you beat that shit into someone it stops being a nice little gesture and starts becoming annoying as shit and people begin to resent it.

@xianc78 @rasterman @ChristiJunior I mean, I wouldn't say that F-zero is a vastly superior game to trackmania and that anyone who likes the latter will probably like the former even more, and those games are a lot closer in genre than zelda and Ys. They share similarities, but ultimately you'll have tons of people who prefer one style of gameplay over the other or even just like them for different reasons.

I think the games zelda is most comparable to outside of the action adventure genre are like, 3d platformers that feature combat. Even then though, those games are all level based instead of having a big, dynamic world for the player to explore pretty much freely.

re: Did someone ask for fedi's biggest zelda defender?

@rasterman @ChristiJunior yeah you don't have to mod the shit out of it or anything. Just some nice QoL features that bring the game to a bit more of a modern standard.

@rasterman @ChristiJunior @xianc78 zelda 1 was good for its time. You kind of need the manual or a Nintendo power guide to play it though lmao.

You need an ID to go to pornhub here now lmao

I don't think lawmakers realize that you can just look up porn videos on bing, or that most people these days probably get their porn on reddit/discord/twitter. Pornhub needing an ID is not gonna change dick for kids accessing nsfw. The only thing that can change that is the parents, who would rather have daddy government do it for them (inefficiently).

@feld this just reminded me that a zombie game called h1z1 came out like right after the h1n1 incident lmao, can you imagine someone making a "coZid-19" game? XD

@Jazzy_Butts it's only soy gaping if you take a picture of yourself doing it and post it online. It's okay to express genuine excitement about something, but when you post it online it's no longer genuine.

@xianc78 @rasterman @ChristiJunior I've never played Ys but isn't it an action rpg? That's a different genre, you can't really compare the two. Zelda is action adventure and, at least looking at the gameplay for Ys IX, Zelda is a lot slower and more deliberate with its combat and exploration. I've been interested in playing them for a while though, even downloaded one at some point but just never got around to it. Something about JRPGs just doesn't hook me a whole lot.

Did someone ask for fedi's biggest zelda defender?

@rasterman @ChristiJunior if you do play oot make sure you do it with ship of harkinian. It has a lot of options to make the game a lot better, including a free camera and a second group of equippable items. Not to mention unlocked frame rate.

Games being $70 right now is still relatively cheap when you consider the production costs especially. Companies were charging $60-$80 in the 80s and 90s for games that were developed in less than 2 years. People are only mad about the price because the quality of the games has been degrading significantly, and you tack the time it takes to make them on top of that and it can feel like a slap in the face. Then you add shitty DLC and MTX on top of that and it's just sad at that point.

I've been playing Tears of the Kingdom for over 40 hours now and, as someone who MIGHT buy 1 full price game a year, it's fucking incredible. There's so much content here. I'm MAYBE 1/4 through the game and that's a pretty high estimate. $70 is absolutely worth it for this game. The only real problem with it is performance because the Switch is so old, but it's easy to look past that when the rest of the game is so damn good. I actually have to take breaks to recollect myself because it's been a long time since I played something this packed. Just this morning I found an item that introduces a completely new mechanic and I was gobsmacked that something like that could be hidden this deep into the game. It just keeps happening too and I haven't even gotten to the point where I get to grind on rails yet.

And about the soundtrack, I actually think it is better than BotW's. It's a lot more dynamic and it seems like there are just more tracks in general, and they really accentuate the cinematic parts to give you goosebumps. It isn't as good as Wind Waker's or Skyward Sword's, but it is a champion at using leitmotifs from other games and using them to great effect. To be honest, I kind of separate OSTs from the games they come from. I fucking love the Chrono Trigger/Cross soundtracks but I'm not a huge fan of the games themselves. Same thing with Jet Set Radio.

There is a chance that I'm fedi's biggest Zelda defender lmao xD I fucking love Zelda, I've got 2 tattoos from it. There are games in the series I don't like though, Minish Cap/Twilight Princess/Majora's Mask in particular. The last two have GREAT music though.

I'm about 2 years from posting on reddit saying I'm looking for a gf
