@jeff it says in the faq you need 8gb of VRAM and 26GB RAM. maybe that's like, minimum spec for it though. what model are you using?

@jeff looks like i need to download more RAM to use Mixtral...

i was thinking about buying more RAM recently actually, just two more 8gb sticks, but unfortunately my CPU heatsink is super beefy and it covers one of my RAM slots just a liiiiittle too much ;_; I might be able to get away with removing the shield from the RAM but idk if it's worth it.... might have to just get 2x16 instead and just replace them.

@tori i feel ya here. i've noticed though that my friends that are right-leaning tend to actually be more open/accepting of values i have that they don't. i don't have many left-leaning friends left because they've seen one or two things over the years i've aligned with that they didn't and thought i was evil or something. which is really unfortunate, because i'm sure we agree on more than we disagree on or that there is at least some nuance/misunderstanding there, and even then we still had some good times before any of that cropped up. people just kinda suck.

Just a little note for anyone who might want to interact with me, it's hard for me to make a post like this:
I have some friends who may say things that others might disagree with. This unfortunately sometimes involves politics.
Contrary to what people say, if you happen to agree with something someone on a right-leaning political spectrum has said, that does not automatically make you a rightoid right wing bigoted racist and all those sort of words.
Conversely, it also applies to the left-side too.

I have friends on both left and right side of politics. I try to be neutral and see both sides in as many things as I can. Listening to opinions from all the same sorts of people and creating an echo chamber for yourself must not be fun. it's important to diversify it sometimes. Since I have friends on both sides of stuff, when I'm talking to friends who have opinions I do not agree with, I usually just explicitly talk to them about what we are both interested in in-common, or things i find interesting that they may do as well.

I believe that people should be free to be friends with whoever they want to be friends with and I don't really agree with mutual policing unless it's for a really serious reason (i.e. noncery or actual fucking serious crimes).

I try to be as honest as I can usually and I don't like lying to people, but if you have an issue with something I'm doing or have said please try to bring it up to me personally. I'm autistic and I may not immediately pick up on it myself due to social understanding issues. I will gladly talk out any issue you think you might have with me as I want to try to improve myself to be the best version I can be.

Thanks guys and I hope we can have some great interactions together on fedi :)

I just decided to FINALLY finish the tears of the kingdom

@LukeAlmighty boxing game?

I just decided to FINALLY finish the tears of the kingdom

@LukeAlmighty I guess you could try swapping out the battery if you care that much.

I just decided to FINALLY finish the tears of the kingdom

@LukeAlmighty yeah if you didn't try just keeping it on the dock for a bit it's worth a shot. Or if that doesn't work, plug the power cable into the switch directly because the dock could be broken too.

If that doesn't work then, damn. You're probably SOL unless you want to open the thing up and probably do some soldering/cleaning.

I just decided to FINALLY finish the tears of the kingdom

@LukeAlmighty what happened? Did the battery just dry out because you never charged it or something? Did you try leaving it on the dock for a while? Or is it actually bricked for some reason?

@LukeAlmighty thankfully I have a hacked switch and people make great mods for PS controls

rumor that a new xbox is coming out in 2026. i'm thinking, damn. already??

then i realize... the current gen consoles came out in 2020. 3 years ago. still seems like they're extremely new. 2020 does not feel like it was 3-4 years ago man. 2016 feels like it was 4 years ago xD

first session of ghostrunner 2, pretty good so far. haven't really gotten to a lot of the new stuff though so i can't comment too much on that.

the game runs buttery smooth too... or it would, if it didn't have fucking traversal stutter. this is the major thing holding back unreal engine and it is super annoying. still, it's kind of nice being able to play a game at max settings, 1440p, 144fps. it looks nice, it plays nice, it's just those damn stutters that get in the way.
