@x999 honestly, i think jimi hendrix. nobody sounds like he did. may not be the best one technically, but he had soul. and that guitar tone is so sweet. plus he played a regular guitar left handed which is kinda cool.
i think buckethead is also insane. dude has put out SO MUCH MUSIC and he's a great guitar player. another one of those musicians that just HAS it.
one that has less history behind him but i still think is a great guitarist is tim henson, of polyphia. he plays some stuff that i didn't think was even possible on a guitar and still manages to make all of his songs extremely memorable and you can sing along to the melody very easily. i also just love polyphia in general, lots of talent in that band.
@LukeAlmighty it doesn't hurt, what hurts is when i can't think of what i need to and i get frustrated. frustration hurts.
@rednax @orenjipiiru it definitely would be, message is still there though at least
@coolboymew @colahpse @mangeurdenuage not exactly sure what you mean by this, but I know there are two N64 rom types and they're a little different from each other. I think z64 is the one people usually use for decomps and such.
Wiseguy is apparently working on a method where you don't need the elf file so that will hopefully help things be more accessible to "normal users" instead of developers.
I get that parents do this kind of thing a lot, but whenever my parents randomly send me money or give me gifts it always makes me feel bad. Like, I didn't really do anything to deserve it. They're both more than well off so they can do that I guess, but I just feel bad taking it.
I don't know how true this is, but I read that the old Nordic people looked down upon giving gifts to people who could not give a gift back. Apparently, a large enough gift could be a declaration of war. It was basically like saying "you suck, look at all these riches you don't have but I can just throw away willy nilly."
It makes sense. I don't like feeling like a charity case. Like, I couldn't afford to get my dad anything for his birthday and he bought me two new pairs of shoes. ON HIS BIRTHDAY. Then proceeded to pay me for the time off I had to take to go to his party. Or my mom just sent me a large tip for my music, but I'm not even playing today because I'm sick and she's knows that. No amount of me saying "please, you really don't have to do that" will change their minds.
@mangeurdenuage @colahpse @coolboymew i've been looking into this for the past 24 hours to see how feasible it is to make this work for games and it seems way more cryptic than nerrel let on.
long story short, a game practically needs to be decompiled or at least partially decompiled first before it can be used here. it is probably a much easier solution than actually porting a decompilation, but there is still a file that you need a decompilation for.
so while this works on any n64 game in theory, it'll only work on those that people choose to put time into. i think the rt64 plugin being incorporated into emulators will probably be something that works with every game more or less. n64recomp though does still need a certain level of a pre-existing decompilation, and the more decompiled a game is the easier it will be to fix issues that appear in the recomp. And yes, that does mean that Superman 64 has an in-progress decomp (kind of, last commit was 3 years ago).
now, even though star fox 64 has an almost entirely complete decomp, i can't for the life of me figure out how to get that necessary file, and since this is so new it's pretty much a thing where if you know how to do it, great... if you don't, you're SOL. i wish there was a bit more instruction because i'd be totally willing to give it a shot if i only knew how to actually get that damn ELF file.
