Morning, fedi :gura_comfy:

It's raining a lot. A monsoon. Downpour. A stick of wotah.

@VD15 i was interested in sea of stars but heard it was just meh

it feels like every other time i try to buy something on steam it lags out and leaves the pending transaction there for a while before i can try again. it's such a ball ache. usually happens when i'm trying to buy multiple things at once.

@Mr_NutterButter yeah i'll probably forget some stuff too haha but that's okay, it'll meld with whatever i decide to change too. as long as it remains consistent with whatever came before it that's all that matters.

@Mr_NutterButter i love how the game is still rated M but is so painfully marketed towards like 10 year olds

@Mr_NutterButter funny enough, in my universe, the people elect a warlord who was complicit and took part in mass killings because he put an end to the war and helped rebuild afterward. he was feared, but respected, the people knew he had the strength to lead and had the nation's best interests in mind.

and you won't see that storyline unfold for another 10 years probably lmao.

i think if people want to elect a criminal to office, they ought to be able to. fuck, it's not like most politicians aren't criminals anyway.

@xianc78 for me, it was just that i always had new ideas that i wanted to work on so i'd just jump ship when a new idea struck my fancy. it's a problem a lot of creatives have and i've had that issue multiple times working on God's Disdain too, but i've just had to more or less push through and keep working on it because i knew if i stopped i'd feel super bad. but i'm glad i went through it because man, i'm proud of the end result.

@xianc78 speaking of rpg maker music though lol, do you remember when i was saying that i made a whole soundtrack for another game i was working on for a bit after high school but i had lost the soundtrack for it? well, i just found the files! not the full versions unfortunately, but they were more or less just the loops repeated anyway. might upload them to opengameart since i definitely won't be using them.

@xianc78 it's funny you mention this though, because before making God's Disdain, back in high school, i was working on a game called Space Heroes. it was about a group of brilliant teenagers who were recruited to work at the United Alliance Space Colony to defeat an alien menace that destroyed a UA ship. it didn't get too far, like most of older projects, but i still have all of the files haha.

in particular, there was a guy who made the music for the game who went HARD and he did it all for free. kind of sad i let him down. no idea where he's at now, can't find anything about him online and the place we talked is gone now.

that's one of the biggest reasons i've been wanting to get God's Disdain done. so many people worked on it man, gave their time to it on my behalf. don't wanna' let them down and let their work go to waste like i did with a bunch of other people in high school when i had no idea what i was doing.

@xianc78 yeah, the dungeons. that makes sense though lol. i can't think of any immediately off the top of my head. i'd check rpgmaker.net but they're down at the moment, experiencing some difficulties after their server host finally shut down after being on life support for years.
