i've also got those "learn japanese or die" games on steam. those teach you all the symbols from scratch. i'll probably go back to that later on too.

@verita84 imo it's respectful to at least learn a little bit of the language of where you're traveling. plus, i hate trying to talk to people over google translate.

downloaded duolingo for japanese. i know it's not perfect and won't make me fluent or anything, but my brother used it for like 6 months or so before his japan trip and he had no issues getting around and making light conversation. i want to go to japan at some point so i figure i should probably do that.

you know how people are always saying that the existence of the uncanny valley means that at some point, humans had to be afraid of something that looked human but wasn't quite human? like it's an evolutionary trait of some sort.

Spent a little bit of time playing the old Alpha build of God's Disdain. Back when it was still "Kami no Keibetsu: God's Disdain." The build is from 2019. It's actually crazy how much it has changed since then. It looks and feels so much better now. I actually got a lot of work done from 2019-2024 in relation to how much I had done from 2015-2019.

The only thing I thought looked objectively better was the font, but I changed it because it was ripped directly from Animal Crossing Wild World and I obviously didn't have the rights for that.

The cool thing about God's Disdain though, is that since it is unencrypted, it is trivial to plop in whatever font you want! You can even take a couple extra steps to add it in to the options menu, even if you don't own RPG Maker you can open the plugins.json file and find the spot to add it in there.

everyone seems to be missing the point with the whole "zelensky won't say thank you" thing. it's not about literally saying "thank you" it's about showing that you are thankful in your actions.

@colahpse basically any legislation can be used by politicians to do stupid shit, i don't think that's a good enough argument. if the bill is being written and explicitly talks about what i would like legislated then it's good. if they sneak other bullshit into it, then the bill is bad. it's all theoretical, i'm just saying that people dismissing it as not a big deal and "tons of people do it so why bother" are retarded
