The NGS Creative Space update coming out in June looks insane. It's not just building a house or whatever, the things you can do there kind of reminds me of Halo Forge a little bit actually. Making custom race tracks, buttons to open doors, putting triggers on objects, looks pretty sweet. The spaces they showed off today looked awesome, I mean someone straight up made a convenience store xD I have no doubt I'll be in there for a long time, which means I need to beat Tears of the Kingdom fast xD

@bardt @bevy speaking from experience, simply clicking the build button for a different OS doesn't mean that it's going to work the same. something as simple as full screen mode completely broke on a test Mac build of my game. for indie developers, they already have enough on their hands as-is most of the time. for AAA publishers, they're often trying to make versions of the game for like 8 different consoles already. linux and especially mac are just not popular gaming platforms, so the focus becomes windows.

@matana i use hekate's USB tool to transfer mods over and even update hekate and atmosphere. then i use goldleaf to install games directly over PC to the SD card's emunand.

i know you can also place games on an SD card and then install them from there, but there's not too much of a reason to do that. homebrew wouldn't require an extra step of putting the file on the SD card first and then installing it if it can just install directly from USB anyway. that was the really old way of doing it, and there is actually a tool that lets you split your NSP beforehand so that you can actually copy it over to the drive.

what i think this guy might be thinking is that when you connect over USB, at least in goldleaf, it does open up a windows prompt that asks what you want to install. so you can click on a 14GB NSP or whatever. maybe he thinks that it transfers over to his SD card first and then installs, rather than just installing to the SD card on the spot.

@matana funny enough that's the exact thing i'm wondering about lmao. you can install games onto a fat32 formatted SD card but only if you start the install on the switch over FTP or USB. the switch can split up larger files to install onto a fat32 SD card.

what is retarded is some r*dditor saying that he can actually drag larger files than that over to his SD card and i don't think he actually understands the process of what he's doing.

unless there is some black magic voodoo thing going on where the switch actually splits ANY file that is placed into an SD card while it is connected in real time somehow. which would be some really fucking weird technology that would make you wonder why no operating system does that.

i'm going to have to test this out myself and see what the fuck is going on because if you actually can load up software on your switch to connect to the SD card through USB to your PC and you can actually drag files over 4GB onto it that's fucked and just not supposed to be possible. the whole point of the 32 in fat32 is that it is a 32 bit file system, meaning it can only store up to 4GB per file. that's also why 32-bit programs can only make use of 4GB of RAM. if there is some cheesy way of getting around that idk why literally nobody uses it except apparently some homebrew app on a switch? that would probably fuck up compatibility elsewhere too.
