@xianc78 nope.
The main character in Tron Legacy physically steals a big corporation's software and releases it for free because that was the creator's intention xD
Alita is an alien who fought against Earth on the side of Mars, which is mostly just back story to explain why she's so athletic and good at fighting. The actual story is about taking down corruption and greed in many forms.
Blade Runner 2049 sees a Replicant (fake human) blade runner (rogue replicant killer) going rogue himself and trying to piece together his past, all the while fighting against the corporation who makes Replicants who is trying to prevent him from discovering the truth about the old models he's been destroying (they were too independent).
In this sort of cyberpunk setting there is always a struggle between good and corruption, usually in the form of corporations or governments.
In Tron Legacy, it's a little bit of corporate greed at the beginning but mostly it is a fight against an imperfect AI trying to enact perfection, becoming corrupt because of that. It's an interesting twist on the more typical "corrupt government/corporation" trope.
@xianc78 there is a good reason why my favorite movies are the ones they are. They don't fuck around with political bullshit.
(Tron Legacy, Blade Runner 2049, Alita)
@famardy @redneonglow and random Hollywood stars who are willing to bail them out like Jim Carrey and Steve Carrel.
@lain classic
@lain man idk why but for some reason my sleep deprived brain saw this as a guy's foot going through the cat. like a horribly photoshopped image. and that's why his toes looked so fucked up. it took me a solid 10 seconds to actually process what i was looking at.
the FAITH games are so fucking cool. they're incredibly unique in basically every way... and very terrifying.
this video is LONG but it's a fantastic explanation of the unholy trinity.
something cool i learned from this is that airdorf, the creator of the game (solo dev btw), was actually a missionary and included a personal story from his mission in the game. i could always tell that FAITH was a game that was made by someone who actually had a lot of knowledge about Christianity and there was always a sort of reverence for it that could be felt, which can't be said for pretty much every other example of exorcist-horror out there.
@Mr_NutterButter old Nintendo before NoA said "no religion pls"
