i'm guessing she only gets as many votes as she does because she's a meme character. highly doubt most people who knew about her knew her full name, that she even came from a video game at all, or have played the games she's in before this contest went live.

which isn't a bad thing, to be fair, you can like a character even if you don't know who they are really. but claiming that she's the BEST video game girl of all time when she's up against samus aran of all characters is retarded and 100% fueled by contrarianism. you can't win with this strategy either, because if she wins well guess what, she's now the most popular one so i guess you gotta' move on to someone else.

@LukeAlmighty @matana apparently this dude was only a background artist for the game and the series co-creator Yoshio Sakamoto said that this being true was as likely as Metroid Prime getting a PS2 port.

One of the only things we know about Hirofumi Mastuoka is this quote, which was an answer to "a secret about Samus only you know." So he was either joking/trolling or he's retarded. There's also the potential that the word "newhalf" can refer to a more masculine female but I don't know Japanese well enough to confirm that and I suspect only Japanese people who were at least in their 20s in the late 1980s would know.

Anyone that actually believes this has more brain rot than people who think Kirby is non-binary.
