i've said it before but i think jimi hendrix truly was one of the best guitarists to ever live. i really wish he would have been around longer and made more music. what a fucking legend. he's got a fantastic voice as well.
like... he was doing this shit in the SIXTIES. dude was a straight up alien. playing a right handed guitar upside down as a lefty. his music is so raw.
@dilf i'm not a huge fan of the beatles. i think other people have performed their songs much better. the entire soundtrack of the musical Across The Universe is incredible.

none of their music aged particularly well, but other people turned them into songs that *have* aged very well and I think will continue doing so.
contrast their music to so many artists who were around at the same time and you'll find that the beatles' music is just not on the same level. simon & garfunkel completely destroy them. not to mention crazier shit like jimi hendrix. i can throw on pretty much anything by hendrix and everybody will be into it, but beatles these days... they're just very milquetoast.
