@coded_artist funny enough, sometimes it's the other way around too. Rock/metal by black dudes can kick ass. Of course, rock was largely started by Chuck Berry, a black man, but the genre has been primarily white dominated imo. But you've got bands like Living Colour that did some crazy stuff for their time.

Then there are people like Killswitch Engage's last lead singer (Howard Jones) and Animals As Leader's guitarist (Tosin Abasi) who are in leagues of their own.

The Japanese have extremely good rock and metal too, it has a really unique sound to it that you can always pinpoint as being Japanese.

Personally, I have always preferred white hip hop artists. I think it's mainly an aversion to gangsta rap which is what a lot of black artists lean into more, whereas white artists tend to kind of blend other genres into their hip hop that I'm more familiar with and enjoy more (like rock/emo/punk). Eminem used to be a favorite of mine but I kind of got tired of him. Most of what I listen to now is Blackbear and NF, a little bit of Hoodie Allen and Post Malone (not white but still). If you like hip hop at all I would highly recommend listening to NF, he's a Christian rapper and he always kills it.

for god's disdain's final trailer, i think i'm going to go with a bit of a different approach. so far the trailers i have made have been a bit more slow-paced and chill, which fits the vibe of the game overall.

for the final one though, i'm gonna go pure 90s "in your face" style and yell into a microphone with big flashy text and maybe even some really cheesy live action cuts.

i just think it would be funny to do that and it's an idea i've had kicking around for the past couple of months. hopefully i can get it done before the next fest on monday but if not that's okay. i wanted to start working on it a little bit earlier but i had a lot of other things to take care of.

i think my gpu might be finally killing itself. the scuffed 2080ti. had two system failures today in the past 2 hours. not bsods, just the display crashing basically. one watching youtube and one playing a game. i was noticing some really bad hitching in rivals of aether 2 last time i was playing as well. hopefully it's something else but worst case, i've got a 1070 i can slot in until i can get a new gpu. none of the games i play require anything better than that.

for a bit of context, this gpu was already fucked when i got it. my friend ran it overclocked and one of the fans got tilted so it constantly scraped against the heatsink and that made the card overheat even at super low clocks. he gave it to me for free and said if i could fix it i could have it. didn't want to replace the fan because the way this thing is built you had to like remove the heatsink and stuff. so i ended up just bending and trimming the part of the heatsink where the fan was scraping up against.

that was all the way back in 2021. the card was purchased in 2018 right when it came out. so i'd say he lived a full life.
