@smugumin @kerosene DK bananza is the most fun I've had in a video game in a long time. Pokémon isn't actually developed by Nintendo it's just partially owned by them. Mario Kart World is alright but it could have been much better. Even tears of the kingdom which has so many problems is still a really good game. I think certain indies will be better than Nintendo games but honestly, in the AAA space not a lot of other companies come close. That's a pretty low bar to surpass though haha.

@hazlin yeah it's not exactly like I'm heading straight for unity or unreal. I'm using RPG In A Box which is built in Godot. It's similar to RPG Maker but in 3D and it uses voxels with custom collision maps for tiles and stuff. So it's still an intermediary you know? It's just that learning basically everything from scratch again when I've got 20 years of experience somewhere else is extremely daunting and I always catch myself thinking "I could just do this in rpg maker instead and it would take a fraction of the time" but then it wouldn't be 3D and I would like it to be... Bleh.

I'm stuck in paralysis again... Is taking so much extra time to learn 3D in a different engine over 2D in RPG Maker that I already know so much about worth it? I could be developing my next game RIGHT NOW but instead I'm learning something else and it is making me really antsy. Maybe I'm too worried about time. Maybe I should just stay dedicated to RPG Maker and build on experience I already have. I don't know man. Thoughts?

@verita84 i only played like 2 hours of lies of p and the end of my free game pass sub but it is by far the best soulslike i've played and i'm not really a fan of the genre. so yeah i would say it is very good.

silent hill does not have a history of great games since the originals, with middling results at best, so it is safe to say that the absolute peak of soulslikes is going to have better gameplay. i'd only pick silent hill f over it if your main focus is wanting horror.

apparently silent hill f is going to be a souls lite with a stamina bar, weapon durability, and tool kits. they just can't stop wringing out this franchise.

@SuperDicq @sun it's kind of like how all the devs at Konami who were on the chopping block got sent to team silent and then they made one of the greatest horror games ever.

@sun Shrek's Law dictated that every Shrek movie took twice as long to render than the previous one.
