@D-Droid KAR came out too late for the awards, I mean it isn't even out yet lol. It'll be up for next year though. Against silksong and e33 I don't think it's winning lol, but it was a very good game.

@pettanko @D-Droid not really, the game industry tends to have a bias towards either realism or pretentious artsy shit.

@sendpaws @LittleTom @WandererUber call of duty does have a significantly larger player base on console though, that is true. the type of person playing call of duty now is usually not the kind of person who is going to buy a pc.

@sendpaws @LittleTom @WandererUber there is a lot of absolute slop, that's for sure. but there are also a lot of actually pretty good games that just have like 1 or 2 things wrong with them but people latch onto those things and all the sudden the entire game is complete trash. usually these people aren't even playing the games either they're just getting their opinion from somebody else, whether it is a complete rando on the internet or some content creator that only ever really gets mad at shit.

i think it's because it's addicting and cool to be mad at things.

@LittleTom @WandererUber i only played the demo for crossworlds but it seemed way more chaotic while also feeling way more fair. they balanced it a lot better. i was in the lead pretty often and when i got there it didn't feel hard to keep the lead over some bullshit. and if i do drop i don't drop to 15th place, i only drop to like 3rd max.

@LittleTom @WandererUber i really hate how the online for mario kart world turned out, and the open world is empty and gay. 24 player races may have been a mistake. the art is awesome though, i love the way the game feels to play, a lot of the courses are so well made (which is why online feels so bad since you never get to play them), and the soundtrack is full of remixes but there are so many of them and they're so good.

chimping out about video games seems to be the default these days it seems...

@WandererUber the point of complaining about sequels is that they all have the exact same art direction as the previous game. mario kart world is a sequel but it's in a different art style.

no nomination for silent hill f? dk bananza? no mario kart world? all of these games have amazing art direction, regardless of what you think about the games in general.

original game, sequel, sequel, sequel, sequel.

there really needed to be more variation in this list.

@Mr_NutterButter just because they got nominated doesn't mean they'll win. More of a formality than anything else. Idk about death stranding 2 but DK bananza was a fantastic game, I loved it!
