Yep, the new pso2 story was actually pretty good. Looks like I'm stuck playing only that game and basically nothing else now. Sorry Mina and Twilight Princess, you'll have to wait for an indeterminate amount of time. I was even playing on my laptop in like 480p 30fps at work today man.

@LukeAlmighty and yeah the ones you skip i would definitely watch like, not cutscene movies for, but maybe some youtube guy talking about the story from them because with these games not everything is explained in the cutscenes, there are a lot of files to read that have some pretty important things in them that you'll totally miss if you just watch cutscenes.

@LukeAlmighty 1) 4 for sure, arguably 9 but that's based on having knowledge of him beforehand so i'll go with 4

2) the best game for most people IS 4, but if you really like it i would play 7 next if you can only play one. it has seemingly little to do with anything else until you piece together more parts of the story from 8 and 9, but it's a really high quality horror game. if you don't want to do first person and stay with that same style from re4, then i'd go with re2 remake because that's also really high quality and also has leon.

3) if you LOVE the games then i would just play them in release order after having played 4, 2, and 7. straight up. with some things to note:

- play the gamecube remake of re1, it's the one on steam i'm pretty sure.
- play the original re3, not the remake. it leaves a bunch of stuff out. if you can't stomach it then it isn't the end of the world but yeah.
- 5 and 6 are kind of meh unless you're playing them in co-op with a friend. you can totally just get story synopses for them otherwise.
- if you're really strapped for time you can also probably cut out 0 and both revelations games in addition to 5 and 6

@pettanko obviously he isn't fucking Peter scully or something, there is a sliding scale of severity and the actual sentencing should reflect that. But people saying that distribution of such material is fine when someone close in age does it is completely missing the mark. Close in age exceptions are meant for private intimate acts, not sharing comprising media. I don't want to approach a slippery slope. The laws exist as they are now for a reason and I think they are good that way.
