@xianc78 the best thing is that people are seriously considering repealing the 19th

@Ronnie21093 @DrRyanSkelton @SuperSnekFriend I need to go back to it, it is hard to really describe just how much love and care is put into the game and how utterly enjoyable it is. It may not be all too difficult (unless you pick the higher difficulties where a guide is mandatory) but it's got more than enough of everything else to make up for it.

@Iffine @Ronnie21093 i don't know enough about touhou to know how much randomness is involved, but i can tell that it at least seems like the bullets are traveling farther faster. or maybe that enemies are shooting them earlier.

in theory, this could be really cool. even with animation interpolation you'll get less motion blur and lower latency. it looks like it has some kinks though.

@Iffine @Ronnie21093 10 fps is getting way too low for me lol. that's why i can't play star fox on the SNES. it runs at like 13 FPS or something along those lines. just hurts to look at. ocarina of time on original hardware runs at 20 FPS and that's about as low as i'll go. the frame rate in oot is super solid though and playing on a CRT helps for sure.

which reminds me, i gotta check out the pc port of the OG starfox. actually runs at higher frame rates now without speed up. has support for star fox ex too.

@Iffine @Ronnie21093 the first time i played i didn't know that it was supposed to be locked to 60 and was running it at 144. i beat it on easy, but just barely. realized that something was definitely wrong about halfway through lol.

i've seen people run the game at higher frame rates and beat it to show off skill or whatever.

@Ronnie21093 dude if it is the same guy i'm thinking of he sent me a message on reddit because he found a post i made 5 years ago asking about the frame rate.

@genmaicha eh, it was counter culture to get tattoos and now it is counter culture to hate them. for me, i've wanted the ones i have ever since i was a little kid. i don't mind tattoos on a very basic level, but it does really depend on the tattoo whether i'm actually going to be attracted to someone or not for instance. like i know a girl with the batman logo as a tramp stamp and winnie the pooh on her cheek, really cheap looking shit. but i also know a girl with a treble cleff with flowers on her back and it's really artistic. just depends.

i don't know tooooo much about other fgc games, but i just had the thought that maybe the smash community is so maladjusted because of how much extremely janky shit exists in those games. like, i have very, very little desire to ever play smash ultimate in tournament because of that. so the people who will play it anyway, you know... maybe there is something just more fucked up about them in general lol. just a theory.

@LukeAlmighty I've seen women who have in their dating profiles that they won't date anyone that uses an android phone

@beardalaxy
It's so hard to explain to people the difference between a gaming PC, and a Power user PC.

But a gaming PC for 300$ has access for 30 years worth of free games. Literal gems, that will entertain for thousands of hours.

zYpu seriously don't need the nvidia ballbuster GPU, unless you work with AI, or need to mine coins.

To this day, I cannot comprehend that people are buying over 1000$ phone, and they're not even photographers.

Because, what the hell do you neee a pocket skynet for? You're going to use it for phone calls and for scrolling Instagram.

"Gaming is prohibitively expensive these days, you can't play video games for an affordable cost anymore!"

Ladies and gentlemen, the humble $200 Alienware Alpha.

Are you going to be able to play the latest AAA games on it? Can it run the latest graphics techniques like DLSS and ray tracing? No.

Will you have fun with the myriad of indie games and massive PC gaming back catalog, as well as emulation of a dozen retro consoles? Hell yeah!

This little guy was my first ever gaming PC. Jumped straight into modded Skyrim with it, lol. I still own one from over a decade ago and, although it has about the power of a PS4, that certainly doesn't prevent you from having fun with it.

There is a whole world of gaming just waiting for you to uncover it. Outside of the latest and "greatest" games getting shoved in your throat. And no, it's honestly not that expensive to get into at all. In some ways, gaming has never been cheaper. You just have to temper your expectations a little bit and you'll find so much joy.

@ooignignoktoo @coolboymew @pettanko i've still got my original SP and emerald copy, which is in shockingly good condition other than the battery being dry. i'm not particularly attached to it so i'll sell it in a pinch, but not really until i've got a reason to. it'd be nice to give to my niece one day or something i suppose. her parents are major pokemon fans so she'll probably be into it lol.

@ShadowBroker @ChristiJunior i can see the frustration there for sure, you don't get a lot of time with your full arsenal. they did do a decent job of incorporating it into the final boss battle, but they could have gone further.

much better than the wild era games though when it comes to that, for sure. they have no gear to speak of and their final boss battles don't require the use of any of the powers, as far as i can remember. you just hit ganon really hard with big stick pretty much. extremely cinematic and seeing dorf's HP bar go off the screen in totk was cool, but yeah, mechanically extremely simple in comparison.

@ooignignoktoo @coolboymew @pettanko I think the first game I actually beat was Pokémon emerald, had a physical strategy guide for that. Had to use it for the Regis. How else would anyone ever be able to do that shit? xD
