@LukeAlmighty money
@LukeAlmighty didn't you see the 'tomboy indoctrination machine' meme
@Hephaestic @beardalaxy and I'll take a thousand of "this guy are sick" over westerners trying to be witty on someone else's IP
@Hephaestic @beardalaxy nonsense, fanfiction writers usually love the source material, this is more like localization with more localization on top
@matrix back of course, because he's fucking two men
@Hephaestic @beardalaxy @Mr_NutterButter and then moids act surprised and offended when I advocate to strip them of all their rights permanently and irrevocably, retorting to the old cope about "unreasonable" women
@beardalaxy this has the artistic value of a roadkill, disgusting and repulsing, but also so forgettable that it will thankfully leave your mind next turn
@LukeAlmighty cars are bottomless pits you're supposed to throw money in
I just realized that in less than two months, it will be Undertale's 10th anniversary, so allow me to remind you that Toby Fox is a talentless fucking hack that does not deserve a fraction of the fame and fortune he received from his meme game.
Seriously, name one other person who went viral on their first try (Undertale was his first video game outside of ROM hacks) while using a program that many of us messed with back in elementary school or middle school.
Not only that but he got to Japan, take over Sakurai's Famistu column, and have his sequel be featured in the Nintendo Switch 2's trailer. I find this all ironic because Toby Fox was previously a ROM hacker, which is usually a big no-no in Nintendo's eyes, but they let this all slide.
And what is special about Undertale, really? The pacifist mechanics? Many JRPGs had pacifist mechanics since the original Phantasy Star. The quirky and memorable characters? I can name a thousand games with just as many "quirky and memorable" characters if not more.
No, the only reason why it ever got popular was because of his friends on the Starmen forums along with Earthbound's popularity becoming mainstream thanks to it being released on the Wii U VC around the same time. If it weren't for that, I highly doubt it would have ever gotten insanely popular.
