@PorkCow @ArdanianRight @ChristiJunior @coolboymew After the CD-i games, it seems like Nintendo would never let a western studio touch the Zelda IP again (Cadence of Hyrule doesn't count).

>I swear that Nintendo has one more not Zelda game that I forget right now
Star Tropics. Also, For the Frog the Bell Tolls is essentially a turn-based Zelda.

@coolboymew @ArdanianRight @ChristiJunior I did. Really didn't like how they structured the world with having Skyloft being a hub level (if they added more populated islands, I probably would've liked it more) and the game becoming too story focused.

@coolboymew @ArdanianRight @ChristiJunior
I think there are better ways to go out of their comfort zone. How about a Zelda game that doesn't star Link or more games that are set outside of Hyrule or don't involve the princess? These are the Zelda games I want to see more of because I would like to see more worldbuilding in the Zelda universe. I mean Hyrule probably has more hero's that aren't incarnations of Link (technically the adult timeline Links are this but they're still called Link).

If you want to change the gameplay, just give me a 3D Zelda with the structure of the 2D games. No fairy companion, no generic coming of age story, maybe allow the ability to play dungeons out of order, etc. There are so many Zelda "fans" who have never played any of the 2D games and that pisses me off. It seems like they only play Zelda for the waifus or just so they can call themselves hardcore gamers. Majora's Mask is honestly the only 3D Zelda I really like. It makes me wish that Yoshiaki Koizumi became the lead producer of Zelda instead of Eiji Aonuma.

BoTW was really just a response to the lukewarm reception of Skyward Sword and the insane popularity of Skyrim. If Skyworld Sword wasn't a linear hubworld, BoTW probably would never happened.

>even if a little empty
That's my main complaint with most open world games. The vast majority of them are just a bunch of sandboxes with missions scattered around the world with locations that feel way too similar to each other. It almost feels like these worlds were generated by computer algorithms. Sure it's fun to just roam around and immerse yourself into a vast open world, but I think the more metroidvania approach makes exploration more rewarding.

@ArdanianRight @ChristiJunior @coolboymew I just don't like that Nintendo decided to make an open world Zelda game with survival and crafting elements just because everyone else is doing it. They could've just gone with the Zelda 1 or ALBW structure and I think most people would be okay with it.

I'm just hoping that the sequel to BoTW will have more traditional dungeons (actually make them mandatory while have the shrines be optional), heart pieces, and more distinct locations. I'm fine with the open world, but I would still like to see traditional Zelda mechanics.

@coolboymew Gamespot gave BOTW a 10/10, for those wondering how consistent they are with games with a lot to do that isn't meaningful.

I got my test result back, I'm positive with the coof (COVID). 100% because mom works in a daycare and she got it from there and then I got it

No worries from me, I just have an extremely mild scratch in my throat that doesn't really make me cough at all, and some headache and all of this is already going away slowly, so no worries. I feel golden besides that. The common flu makes me much sicker than that

I would pay a premium for a non-smart TV. I can't believe there's not a market for this, not even a high-end one.

>The simps against emulations are really getting on my nerves. If it wasn't for emulation and piracy you couldn't play 99.99% of games made in the past, they simply ain't being rereleased.
Fucking this. People don't realize how much of the gaming community was built at least partially on emulation. Piracy and emulation is probably what got cult classics like Earthbound out from under the radar. Most people I know first played it through emulation. Nintendo probably wouldn't have bothered re-releasing it on the VC otherwise.

And if Nintendo is going to go after those who use emulators, they might as well stop certain developers from putting their games on there systems because it isn't uncommon for developers to have ROMs of old games for research and reference. Not to mention developers like Toby Fox who were previously ROM hackers. Why does Nintendo think they can go after an even because they're using emulators for better picture quality but will allow developers who were previously ROM hackers or use their ROMs for design reference?

I will never ever side with Nintendo with the Smash thing and I cannot believe the amount of simps would would and I absolutely commend the Splatoon community over fucking over their own event in solidarity

Oh boo hoo hoo, people are emulating melee in a tournament to be able to battle online, who the fuck cares? It's not as if Nintendo is even selling it. It's literally unavailable, it's not sold in any store or digital platform worldwide, so what the fuck? If they ain't providing what the community want, then they can go fuck themselves and the community is gonna provide it for themselves

The simps against emulations are really getting on my nerves. If it wasn't for emulation and piracy you couldn't play 99.99% of games made in the past, they simply ain't being rereleased. There would be no speedrunning community, no twitch, no fucking anything

lol nintendo

shutting down the stream for their own Splatoon finals stream cause participants have nametags to show solidarity/protest Nintendo for the current Smash situation

@matana @coolboymew @Monadwill Yeah. I forgot PC gaming was hugely popular in Europe. I've never understood why though.

My C code crashes normally but works properly when debuging :pepeHang:

@coolboymew @Monadwill Well obviously I wasn't referring to the Incredible Machine in particular, but you said "PC games in stores are somewhat dead" so I thought you meant present tense.
