@einziggurat The first sims games has their charm to the point where if someone tells me they play that shit religiously I'm like "that's cool, that shits fun as fuck" but then when we start talking about four I more or less just wonder how the fuck. A lot of the earlier content is half assed and/or broken, most of the later content is linear to the point where you only need/want to play it once.
If you're not doing some meme house or Jim Pickens-esque shit I dunno what to say to you other than to shake my head in disappointment. ESPECIALLY if you paid for it.

EA has never been known for hiding their shitty practices but when it comes to the sims community (which is made up of mostly women and autists) they try even less. GF is awful in every way but at least Pokemon Sw/Sh are full games. TS4 is about 30% game and 70% DLC. Now they're even cutting DLC into pieces to make people spend even more, even going so far as to sell you CC made by people for free.
I was gonna say *laughs in piracy* but that almost feels disrespectful to the sheer amount of suffering they're going through right now.

They probably grew up with programming. Home computers were extremely popular in Europe back in the 80s. Even more popular than game consoles. And from what I heard, many people programmed their own games if they couldn't afford them. There were even magazines were people could submit the games that they programmed. That could probably explain why.
@rasterman But I wish I was better at programming in C or Assembly, so that I could actually use it. I constantly have to remind myself that the games I'm copying were made by actual competent programmers and actually had to actually work with hardware limitations. But this isn't the wild west days of programming anymore, so whatever.
@rasterman .NET Core and Mono work on Linux. C# is basically a better version of Java. It's one of the few times Microsoft actually got something right. Just don't be fooled. It's not meant to be a replacement to C/C++. I use it for game development, but I don't find it useful for anything else.

@rasterman I don't know where the stereotype comes from either. I guess it's because most Indian programmer usually do freelance work on smartphone and web apps which are usually done in languages like Java, JavaScript, or Python and these languages are like playing with FisherPrice toys compared to languages like C or C++.

@rasterman Apparently, you can have custom splash texts via resource packs. Really this pozzed shit should be obvious after Notch was banned from Minecraft's 10th anniversary party.
