re: gamedev

@Binkle @NEETzsche Haven't heard of it until just now. It seems interesting.

gamedev

@NEETzsche Which is partly why I avoid using them. Frameworks like Pygame, MonoGame, and Love2D are good enough if you are just doing 2D stuff. If I was doing 3D, I would probably use an engine.

re: gamedev

@Binkle Placing tiles isn't that bad because you have some visual representation, but placing objects is a bitch since you have no visual representation of the non-tile objects.

For my next project, I'm considering creating my own (non-XML) format because I fucking hate DOM.

@xianc78 i cant stand this suspense, like, its this constant day to day limbo of pushing back from both sides, a never ending tug of war. Makes you realize what people felt like growing up in major historical events, constant seemingly never ending conflict that flips your way of life backwards and around

re: gamedev

@Binkle I use the MonoGame framework. My level format is just basically an XML file. I have a tilemap and then a list of objects. I have to manually write the XML files because I'm too lazy to make a level editor.

gamedev

But if I do switch, then I have to relearn everything even if it would be much easier. The only reason why I didn't use an existing engine in the first place, was because I wanted to feel special.

But whatever, MonoGame is decent enough and I still think I can handle the shortcomings of using a framework over a full engine.

@ItsSkyDragonz There are huge pockets of mass non-compliance going around all over the world. They are just not broadcasted. I know that there are some small businesses in Europe and Australia that aren't following mandates.

@ItsSkyDragonz If I get any flu-like symptoms, I try my best to hide it so I don't have to get tested.

Went to family members house today for late Christmas stuff, and sent a watning text saying her nose was runny and she felt like she was sick and instantly tried to get a covid test

Love how the mass hysteria has caused people to instantly think any form of illness is instantly covid no questions asked

gamedev

I'm starting to realize how fucking tedious it is to implement levels among other things manually. Maybe I should just use an actual engine like Godot.

I keep thinking about this image, like, how does it manage to so accurately capture the trans experience as I have seen it?

@beardalaxy Glad that nobody in my family has gone tranny yet.

Standing against forceful vaccinaton isn't about left-wing vs right-wing. It's about Authority vs Liberty.

JUST IN - Chairman of the far left-wing party "Die Linke," Dietmar Bartsch, calls for an immediate end to the "panic mode" regarding Covid in Germany. Demands investment in the healthcare system instead of compulsory vaccination.

@beardalaxy This is basically why Duke Nukem Forever was stuck in development hell.
