@noyoushutthefuckupdad @kerosene @Fullmetal4456 @coolboymew Does the Steam Deck have anything over the GPD handhelds other than not being made by the Chinese?

I can't help but feel that leddit is a serious psyop. I don't know how describe the cattle there other than being in a state of mass psychosis. They have to be bots, or has upboat manipulation and "curation" been perfected to the degree where it can compromise people so deeply?

I don't feel this way about any other platforms. There's tribalism, fighting, and censorship elsewhere but it hasn't been processed down into this highly controlled bland gruel that is fed to, and regurgitated by the ledditors.

@qorg Tell that to Ancient Ireland, Icelandic Commonwealth, and The American Old West.

@qorg I'm the real anarchist who physically removes are these freaks from my covenant. :ancap: 🚁

@aprogrammer@mk.nixnet.social The only problem is that it's harder to monetize your videos on PeerTube.

@crunklord420 @aprogrammer@mk.nixnet.social I would assume the video files themselves are hosted via WebTorrent or something similar and the magnets would be listed in the blocks.

@xianc78 @aprogrammer no it's because there's no real mechanism for incentivized decentralized media hosting. All video hosting is essentially paid for and centralized by LBRY corp. They also have a centralized blacklisting API that's part of the library used by the rest of the software.

There's little value in the blockchain metadata portion. That doesn't actually contain the video, I'm not even sure if it contains comments.

They have been claiming since 2017 that they are investigating properly decentralizing their video hosting, but in reality that seems unlikely if not impossible. There's no "proof of video" mechanism.

@crunklord420 @aprogrammer@mk.nixnet.social Is it because everyone is using it through Odysee?

@crunklord420 At this point, it wouldn't surprise me if YouTube decides to just get rid of comments all together. News sites have gotten rid of them for quite some time.

@crunklord420 I guess it's because the uploader can moderate comments on their videos unlike Reddit where the uploader can't do anything.

Me 2015: "I don't want Hillary president. Also these refugees look dangerous for Europe"

vs

Me 2022: "we'll see the HIV/AIDS hoax revealed in our lifetime, the total discredit of the medical system. We'll egg doctors in the streets, nurses worse socially than prostitutes"

@kerosene @Fullmetal4456 @coolboymew @noyoushutthefuckupdad Just get a GPD Win handheld and install Linux on it, if you don't mind giving money to the Chinese.

From Bill Gates to Fauci to the president himself, all these people took to their pulpits to spread a false narrative that getting vaccinated would stop covid in its tracks. Spoiler alert: it did not. Now it's time to stop listening.
