@ryo Also, you should've added that if you really do need a new computer, you should buy only Linux hardware like System76 or RISC-V hardware when people actually start making RISC-V hardware for consumers.

@matana @ryo Or you can use a TUI which is basically a text-based GUI. Honestly, this is all you need if you can't use a CLI for whatever reason. Unless, you are doing truly graphical stuff like photo or video editing.

@ryo Calling Windows "WinDOS" is incorrect. Windows hasn't been DOS based for decades now it's now NT based. The only thing they have in common anymore is the command-line.

@ryo @graf @TerminalAutism How many of them were even taken seriously by their own founders. One of them claimed it so that his daughter can become a princess.

@coolboymew It reminds me of Burger King's "Apple Fries" which were really apples sliced to look like fries.

@ryo @graf Some of the Git repositories still seem active. They don't seem to be dead. It just seems like they've stalled. Maybe the fake pandemic has affected the developers mentally or financially or some shit like that.

@sjw With you anus to mouth fetish, I'm surprised you don't have a or .

@ryo @graf Are there any plans for Netsurf to support those things? I don't know it's intended purpose, but it could allow us to break free from Google and Mozilla if enough effort is put into it.

@ryo @xianc78 @graf If you want a truly impossible mode challenge, try to avoid dbus. It's a systemd component. Most distributions "without systemd" actually have every single component of systemd other than the init system (so they may still have all of these other than the actual init called systemd: http://troubleshooters.com/linux/systemd/images/systemd_modularity.svg ).

And I mention dbus in particular because good luck avoiding that one even on the BSDs, not even installing OpenBSD will get rid of that one. It's a dependency for both Qt and GTK3 and up. It can be patched out of GTK3, but no distribution does that other than Hyperbola, and I don't know if it can be patched out of GTK4. Anyway, at least if you use a BSD, potential future vulnerabilities will be less likely to affect you, I guess. Especially OpenBSD.

Also, Luakit is similar to QuteBrowser but uses LuaJIT instead of Python, GTK instead of Qt, and Webkit instead of WebEngine. Nyxt is another Webkit browser, but it's written in Common Lisp instead, and is more Emacs-like. It can also be hooked up to Emacs ( https://yewtu.be/watch?v=XarwuynpWkA ), like any Lisp program. I still have to do that myself, only haven't because I have been very very sick of technology in the last few years.

@TerminalAutism @Terry @djsumdog @ryo @fluffy One thing I learned from in the past couple of years is that the conspiracy rabbit hole is MUCH deeper than one may think.

About that... I gave Alex the benefit of the doubt for a while because I did get useful information from him (particularly specific terms that I then searched and read about myself), but that is over. He is definitely controlled opposition, guaranteed. I had some doubts about him because of how he totally ignores the role of Israel in pretty much everything evil that happens, and his defense of Putin (a WEF Young Global Leader, and legitimately a tyrant, that pushes the same agenda as everyone else)

And also how he constantly pacifies the opposition into doing nothing and just waiting for some magical political solution that has never happened and will never happen. Constantly saying shit like "don't burn down Bill Gates' businesses, just peacefully protest on the way to the extermination camps", when clearly, enforcing the golden rule and doing to them what they have done to others is the only solution and nothing in the history of humanity has ever been accomplished without buildings burning and bodies flying around.

Anyway, it turns out that both him and Joe Rogan have some very bad connections. Including to George Soros, the same Soros that Alex constantly speaks against. Lots of Israeli and military and intelligence connections, even Soviet, even to the church of Satan. They are total frauds and are not doing what they do with good intent, even if some of their information is real. I of course do not trust anyone that has been on Joe Rogan, at this point. Already didn't trust most of them. Too many psychopathic frauds, like Elon Musk, probably the worst of the bunch. At this point, I'm pretty convinced that I was wrong for giving him the benefit of the doubt at all.

@ArdainianRight @D-Droid @MechaSilvio @YeetLibs That's what ppl should be focused on, change at the local/personal level. It's easy to feel blackpilled at the state of things in a macro sense but honestly just having your shit together to a certain degree is a big step in the right direction.

@PraxisOfEvil @ArdainianRight @D-Droid @MechaSilvio @YeetLibs This website should help you find like minded people in your area so you can collaborate and start forming micro-societies.

@ryo @graf I used to use PaleMoon but then the lead developer started blocking certain add-ons for shitty moral reasons before leaving the project enitrely. It sucks because it's the only browser that is truly independent from the Google/Mozilla duopoly (or monopoly since Mozilla is clearly a second head of Google) since it runs on a fork of the browser engine that Firefox used to use.

LibreWolf is what I mostly use now. I also have Tor Browser. I don't use minimalist browsers because I have no use for them (I like add-ons).

I wish I wasn't such a bad artist. I hate relying on stock assets for my games. Specifically, I wish I could do hand-drawn art or do 24x24 or 32x32 assets. 16x16 while easier to do, is way too limiting for me.

I've embraced being a bad artist back in my childhood because I had shitty art teachers who said I was terrible so I just embraced it and said that art isn't my thing. I really regret it now.
