@beardalaxy I looked at RPG Maker Unite. If they really want to make it an "alternate version" while taking advantage of Unity, I think they should've given users the ability to make 3D games (for the first time?). Using a 3D engine for 2D games never made sense to me.

For those of you who have woken up to the scam known as voting, what do you think is the best way to fix the situation, or at least escape it?

@xianc78 @TylerAbeoJordan I can't believe people still think Trump is some kind of savior. The vax guy? Seriously?

Anyway, I will take a politician seriously only when they expose some conspiracies publicly. Only then I will believe they are for real.

@beardalaxy IIRC, there were many different prototypes for The Sims 4. I think the one that became the actual game was supposed to be a spinoff (apparently a spiritual successor to The Sims Online) but they decided to just use that for the basis of TS4 which explains the lack of open world and drivable cars.

They could probably bring it back (while also getting rid of the rabbit holes in TS3) since computers have become much powerful, but this is The Sims we are talking about. I hate to say it, but the audience is mostly teenage and young adult girls who probably have a Mac or some shitty laptop. They do have to take that into account.

@admin Not a DRC user, but if someone reports something illegal like CP, the bot is just going to make fun of that person.

Whenever people search "alternatives to Mastodon" they find lists like "Awesome Fediverse", Fediverse.party, etc which exclude Soapbox on purpose for political reasons. We've tried getting added to those lists to no avail. We have an SEO problem. So if you're looking for a way to contribute, simply creating resources that include Soapbox would be very helpful.

Soapbox is powering some of the largest sites on the Fediverse, and so far word-of-mouth has been effective. But we still shouldn't let them silence us in that way.

@ne 2-clause is basically the same as the MIT license (which is much simpler and more popular). There is also the ISC license which is the same as the MIT or 2-clause BSD but is even simpler.

@beardalaxy They better bring back the open-world, drivable cars, and everything else they cut from previous games.

@beardalaxy @LukeAlmighty I think RPG Maker switching to Unity as a back-end is a good enough excuse to switch, since Unity is now owned by an Israeli spyware company.

My next game is going to use SFML as a back-end because MonoGame is C# which is Microsoft controlled.

I am so tired of tech super-literate people with shitton of free time saying that everything is obsolete, because an open source/illegal alternative does exist.

@TylerAbeoJordan@liberdon.com All politicians are puppets, including Trump. Whatever his new party is going to be will be controlled opposition.

@ne I prefer the BSD 3-clause because the third clause says that products using your code can't say that you endorse them (protects your reputation).

>And Japan doesn't ban guns outright, but the requirements to even be allowed to have one are so ridiculously strict, it's basically the same as outright banning guns.

Did you get a 3D printer yet?
