UBI experiment failed:
As all the real-world attempts at UBI have failed. As the COVID furlough payments failed. As welfare produces dependency.
This time they ran it as a controlled clinical trial over two years. Turns out it worked similarly to a lottery win: people reverted to their pre-existing quality of life within a year.
Most of the increased monthly income was spent on leisure. After some initial stress reduction and spending on healthcare, physical and mental health outcomes returned to equilibrium within a year.

I think indies already do that, but the average indie game is like $10 and a lot of them don't care if you pirate anyway. Honestly, it sounds like a good incentive to get people to actually buy your game without using DRM or even enforcing your copyright because you can't pirate something physical (unless you try to replicate it with a 3D printer).
