Rights Are Not Gifts from Government: The Founders' View
Rights don’t come from a constitution, a bill of rights, or any document at all. Your natural rights - come from your creator - and you have them by the nature of your humanity. Even civil rights - are built on the foundation of natural rights. These were widely-held views from the founders and old revolutionaries.

@sun The Fediverse's "Eternal September" started in 2021, in my opinion.

That's assuming the guy didn't fake his death.

Starlink satellites consist of more than 7,000 small satellites in low Earth orbit. SpaceX has plans for 12,000 satellites over the coming years. Should we be worried?

@realcaseyrollins Castration is sometimes done to prevent prostate cancer from spreading.

@realcaseyrollins What if it's done to prevent something like cancer from spreading?

@adachi @Merc @genmaicha Shoplifting tends to be a last resort. People will check the dumpsters first (a lot of stores throw away anything that doesn't meet their quality standards) before outright stealing.

>They dubbed it as "microblogging" so you could argue it was a replacement for Blogger and WordPress, if anything.

That's what I meant by "live blog posts". Liveblogging is basically asynchronous or real-time (micro)-blogging.

@frost @waltercool @mrsaturday @zaitcev I think there are some add-ons for some popular forum software that enabled ActivityPub support. I know Discourse plans to include it, if they haven't already.

@zaitcev @waltercool @mrsaturday Convenience for the end-user, I guess. Why have your customers/clients jump through hoops creating another account when they can use something that they already use?

Also, I've seen cases where game developers create forums for their games, but some people will refuse to use said forums because "they're outdated", so fans will create unofficial Discord servers instead and they become the popular place to discuss said games.

>Twitter / X = scam replacement for IRC.
How is Twitter supposed to be a replacement for IRC? I know the hashtags were inspired by the # notation for IRC channels, but Twitter itself was originally meant for posting "live blog posts" via SMS.

If anything Twitter is more of a replacement for RSS or the Finger protocol.

@mrsaturday There are literally hundreds of free hosting websites everywhere.

You can even put a 10USD Raspberry Pi next to your router and host something.
