@suquili @binkle Yeah. It's basically public-private partnership on a local level.

@suquili @binkle Smart cities are basically what the WEF wants. They collect data to provide services and you can be denied said services due to bad social/carbon credits.

Modern cities may have elements to this but they aren't centralized and the technology isn't everywhere.

@lina I think these fires we're intentional (Gavin Newsom basically stated he wants to rebuild LA as a smart-city), but I do agree that this ecofascism shit is fucking cringe. They aren't volunteering at their community garden or planting trees or collectively buying land to create nature preserves. They are sitting in front of their computers talking about how TND and TKD will solve all environmental problems.

@binkle That's what I plan to do. Thanks.

Main menu now has a background. It honestly looks like the most professional thing I have ever made.

@frost The problem with COBOL is that a lot of people who wrote those old COBOL programs for businesses are either retired or dead, and the software is too crucial to be replaced with some modern cloud solution.

@frost Depends. If it's temporary and I can find someone who can do it, I would just hire a temporary employee. Otherwise, I would train an existing engineer.

@PurpCat @frost There is also GnuCOBOL which compiles COBOL programs to C.

@frost But it means more time for learning and less time for working.

@xianc78 This will be hilarious to watch with Bass in charge.

@frost COBOL requires you to know some other language (JCL) in order to use it, assuming you are using it on IBM mainframes.

So it turns out that COBOL also requires you to know some other language known as JCL, as it is use to run the program (gives it input). But this seems to be assuming that you are actually using an IBM mainframe, but if you use something like GnuCOBOL, which compiles COBOL code into C, you can use it without JCL.

oh and TikTok hired people directly from the CIA years ago into high ranking director positions over content moderation. All the fake-anger from congress is likely just Alphabet/Meta lobbying because TikTok is stealing all their ad-revenue.

UCKING BUYS THE DATA WITH THE TAX PAYER MONEY to spy on them

I think you have it backwards. Look at "Digital Life Log" by DARPA and it's connections to Peter Thiel, Palinter and Facebook and you'll realize the government doesn't buy the data. It funded/created all the companies that collect it for that specific purpose.

The CIA literally has a startup incubator fund called In-Q-Tel.

@noyoushutthefuckupdad I bet all these words are handpicked by the CIA or some other organization. Almost none of it seems organic.
