All because the devs were having a private conversation about transgender children and a ResetEra member leaked it. They had to remove all potentially homophobic and transphobic jokes. Thankfully, they actually reversed their decision, showing that it is possible for companies to stand up to these goons.

@ChristiJunior @wowaname @ArdanianRight @dielan They needed something to sell during the 2016 holiday season as the Wii U was pretty much dead at that point and the 3DS couldn't cut it as portable gaming is more of a niche now. But the NES and SNES Classic has unintentionally created a new retro gaming craze. Genesis, PS1, and Turbo-Grafx-16 got mini consoles and now you are seeing mini-arcade cabinets (which are garbage) in places like Wal-Mart and Target.

This has apparently become much more profitable than selling ROMs on an online service.

@ArdanianRight @wowaname @ChristiJunior @dielan It's because they realized that they could make more money with Limited Edition re-releases like that Super Mario 3D All Stars or consoles like the NES Classic Edition.

@ChristiJunior @wowaname @ArdanianRight @dielan But Nintendo won't make it because it's clear they don't like these tournaments unless they get a cut from them.

They want a native HD port of the game so it could look better when played on big screens without the delays you get from upscaling. I don't know how they set their consoles up during these events but I guess this is why they want it.

@ArdanianRight @wowaname @ChristiJunior @dielan Imagine being forced to only play as Fox, Falco, Jigglypuff, or the Fire Emblem characters all on Final Destination. I find it ironic that Sakurai never intended Smash to be a competitive game and it's the most competitive game out there. I understand why he regrets making Melee.

Well 4chan has become a shell of it's former self in recent years though. Last I checked, they banned all "racism" outside of /b/. Even then, the rest of the userbase probably despises the LGBT users and boards. It's kind of like when 8chan had its /leftypol/ board.

That's probably because they keep on pushing the idea that race preferences are just bigotry. From what I heard, LGBT spaces historically had problems with racism and I think they are trying to change their image, but of course you are going to have people on the opposite side who are against that.
