Yeah, it's called opportunity cost if I'm not mistaken, except capitalists don't frame it like evil troglodites.
There is cost to running the mess halls and that cost would add up to the cost of the food which depending on your situation could be more than if you didn't work and prepared it yourself. Which would mean you would try to kick in economies of scale to lower the costs, however that would create a gigantic point of failure and also the food would be shit and unhealthy which demoralizes and lowers productivity. He would probably say the messhall should be free but then he's just putting his unpaid labor onto someone else.
There is also opportunity cost in waiting for the communal kitchen to become available.

The darknet is such an interesting place.
First you discover fun 1990's-style personal websites that don't use any soydevvery, then you get to learn proper OPSEC to the point you're as invisible as a professional cycrim, and before you know it you become literally friends with cycrims (including those who have been in prison before, including even those who have taken down entire government soystems before) who are more than willing to teach you mastering cyber security, advanced software hacking, and even developing dangerous malware.

@Indigo @icedquinn My only experience with them was in cars because portable CD players and later MP3 players replaced them.
I'm more interested in cassettes as a storage medium. A lot of early home computers and even video game consoles used them. If you have one of those cassette adapters, it's possible to use a phone, laptop, or MP3 player to load software that way. I also heard that in Europe people would actually broadcast PC games over the radio where you could record the data on a cassette. I could imagine someone randomly tuning in only to hear the ear rape coming from the tape data.

Finally got the 8th boss to work. I just need to create a texture for the shield, but I got the orbiting shield generators.
