Okay. After this game is complete, I'm not doing any procedural generation for the foreseeable future. It just adds too much complexity, which is why my dungeon crawler only has a sword for a weapon. I wanted bombable walls like Zelda but I didn't know how to implement Metroidvania-like elements in a randomly generated map.
I only made the maps randomly generated because I grew some weird obsession with procedural generation. It was like making the computer dream, but as we all know dreams don't always make sense, so you end up having levels that don't make sense unless you have a really complex algorithm.
I love how even after a year and a half and connecting to every relay under the sun, I'm apparently still the only gamedev on Nostr besides a couple of people literally employed at Unity of all places.
I know a lot of people here hate the Nostr protocol, but I do like some of the advantages because I really think the whole fediblock culture is the Fediverse's fundamental flaw and that thing is virtually non-existent on Nostr. As long as you are conntected to at least one node that someone else is connected to, you can't talk to them. People have to judge users on an individual basis and not just block entire instances over bullshit drama.
But alas, even after some time, most people there have little interest in discussing anything other than Bitcoin. Even the user groups I lurked seem inactive. And no, I don't think the crypto integration is the problem here. I even lurked actual blockchain based social networks like Bastyon and even they are willing to talk about other things.

People are rushing in to nit-pick that telegram isn't a secure messager (it isn't) and that it's filled with spam/junk (it is) but there's an important truth to what you're saying.
E2EE isn't an end to itself, it's a means to privacy outside third-party control. The EU (and many other governments) have made it explicitly clear they view any and all communications they can't monitor control or shut down are a problem.
You don't have to like Telegram or durov to see this as a troubling sign within a broader pattern that is only hard to see when ones wishes not to see.
@beardalaxy @berkberkman @Mr_NutterButter I think Option A allows for future post-game content via DLC. Fallout 3 is a good example of this. But there are many examples of it not being done well. Super Mario 64 comes to mind. Seriously, what's the point of getting 100 lives just to replay the same levels you already beat, so you can have fun dying 100 times? Though I think games that allow you to replay levels have the replayability of trying to beat your previous record.
Another terrible example of Option A is the Minish Cap. It has content that can ONLY be obtained post-game, and (as far as I can tell) nothing tells you that it exists. I only found out about it after reading a walkthrough. The game is already known for having the worst side-quest system, so it isn't a big surprise, but the post-game content is just a shield and a few figurines you can unlock, stuff you already don't need.

I think Option A is really only good for games that have DLC/expansions planned, have a definitive ending that requires a 100% completion, or is a game that allows you to replay levels to get higher scores.
Option B depends on if people are willing to replay the entire game, which really depends on the length and enjoyment of the game.
