I'm no fan of Elon Musk/Trump and am not a left-wing nut job either, and I never post memes, but this was just too funny not to pass on. Elon Musk posted a hilarious meme about buying the extremest left-wing MSNBC news outlet. Just in case there are some out there who aren't aware Elon Musk is a billionaire who purchased Twitter and changed its name to X. Elon's companies are also all heavily dependent on government hand outs making him a bit of a left-wing socialist for corporate interests, and also kinda funny that he'll be working to cut government waste as part of his new job under the Trump administration in the new "Department of Government Efficiency" which is suppose to cut all that waste.

@matthew @Em0nM4stodon @mangeurdenuage Depends. Jitsi can easily replace Microsoft Teams and Zoom because it doesn't require an account and there are plenty of services that host Jitsi calls, so there is no need to self-host, whereas something like Google Docs/Drive is harder to replace because not enough people are using alternatives like Nextcloud or Cryptpad to justify it's usage. Best thing you can do if you are a small business owner is to force your employees and clients to use these alternatives and hope that usage would spread elsewhere.
@matthew @Em0nM4stodon @mangeurdenuage People need to research the intelligence agency connections in the creation of these Big Tech firms.
Though I do agree with the OP that there is a problem of schools, hospitals, work-places, etc. using proprietary software. I think talking with these firms (assuming they are small enough) is the best approach, but there doesn't seem to be a perfect solution to this.
@mangeurdenuage @Em0nM4stodon Won't happen. Big Tech works with Big Government.
@Indigo His cabinet is mostly funded by Peter Thiel who is another technocrat who LARPs as a libertarian to make himself look like one of the good guys. James Corbett has written three articles exposing him.
