>it's why I can't read most programming books because they expect you to learn with boring bullshit like writing a database or writing some dumb calculator

Make text adventures. They can help teach the fundamentals while still being fun. Depending on the game, they can also teach parsing and databases (for MUD-like games).

Well I just discovered through some comments that MAGA thinks the FBI are good guys now

The Libertarian Party of New Hampshire is the closest thing to an actual Libertarian Party, at least in the US, but they really like to worship technocratic LARPers like Elon Musk and Peter Thiel.

Would you be excited if the government started buying a lot of eggs?

How about if it started buying a bunch of gas? Or houses?

Then why the fuck would you be excited it's buying cryptocurrency?

I don't care about the LibreWolf team and their feelings about right-wingers and Bryan Lunduke. LibreWolf is one of the least bad browsers out right now. Until something like LadyBird becomes fully usable, this is the best we got.

If it truly bothers you, use Ungoogled-Chromium.

Bryan Lunduke has been banned from the Librewolf Matrix server. His crime ? Being Bryan Lunduke:

They're also starting to ban people who even mention Lunduke:

Such welcoming people.

My game is Linux-first. The Windows port comes later.

gamedev

Added a delay after the player sprite disappears and before the level restarts. I kind of cheated by just copying the same transparent frame like 6 times just to give the illusion that there is a delay between the death animation finishing and the level restart, but the animation is still going up until the restart of the level.

I mean, I could just use a Windows VM, but I would do it if and only if I can get the latest version of MinGW and SFML running on Windows 7 (the last tolerable version of Windows, IMO).

I hate cross-compiling. MinGW for Linux is confusing as fuck. If anyone wants to play my game on Windows, then they can compile it from source (and maybe send me an EXE just so I can redistribute it).

gamedev

Tried to make the "death whirl" animation in sync with the sound effect. Now, I realized that I need two delays. One before the player starts spinning (just to allow the mind to process that they got hit) and one for after the player disappears.

Finally, someone else agrees with me that more free (as in freedom) software developers should charge for their builds.

Finally found a "death whirl" sound effect for when the player gets killed. It took me forever to find one because I didn't know what it was called. Obviously it's not in sync because it's a stock sound effect that I just downloaded, but I plan to sync it in due time.

Watching West euros smash their tendie plate and move hosting out of the USA into countries that really hate their own people because we're not funding a forever war is not what I had on my mind for 2025 yet here we are

I don't think age is the issue. I started looking at 9/11 truth before I was 23. I've met people in their 60s that are pro-trans/wokists and people in their 20s who think the current era is all insane.

The thing is, every true independent media source (thinking James Corbett, Whitney Webb, hell even No Agenda and CIA sponsored Alex Jones) have been covering USAID (or foreign aid in general) for decades.

I am weary of people just going on Joe Rogan with his carefully curated and produced list of guests. Back in December, everyone was going on about Mike Benz's interview, and everything about him just screamed "spook."

Even with USAID going away, you know the CIA will still get the money it needs for its programs through the State Department now. They might be fine with this just to cut out the fat. It's smoke and mirrors to engage the populist base, while also further fracturing the American mind.
