Microsoft president Brad Smith acknowledged that the four rounds of layoffs this year are more about using the money saved to fund AI data centers and GPUs than workers being replaced by AI.
I think this is important for the media to get right versus making it seem like ChatGPT can replace a human worker.
@frost Take note that I'm talking about vacations (i.e being away from work AND home) and not just weekends or days off. Even when I'm unemployed or have extended time off, it's harder for me to get into that gamedev mindset than when I'm away from home.
This may sound strange, but the times when I want to work on gamedev stuff the most is when I'm on vacation when I should be spending time with my family and all that.
Maybe it's because I see new things and places and they give me inspiration for video game locations or it's just not being in a familiar location frees the mind and makes you feel more productive.
@hachi Come up with better bait. This is low, even by your standards.
@beardalaxy If the roommate in question is a woman then all of your belongings are automatically community property by the laws of nature.
@beardalaxy It's a good alternative to scissors.
@Mr_NutterButter I think Adobe goes out of their way to make sure they don't run on Linux.
@xianc78@gameliberty.club Imagine having such little self-awareness and sense of self-worth that you decide to stop using a whole distro because of petty politics that have no actual impact on usage and end-user experience. These people are like hypochondriacs on steroids in the literal sense
Yea, I have been working on a proper easy to deploy fix for this problem. Think mail in a box, but a more complete solution that automates setup of every hoop in such a way the user isn't given the opportunity to screw things up. For probably $150 you'll get everything including hardware you can actually fully control along with options for an IP that isn't on the protest or blacklists.
