An additional improvement that Jai has made: I don't have to learn CMake to use it :retard:

>It's like you insist on bringing the negatives of Twitter and other platforms to Mastodon.

Literally the creator of Mastodon dubbed it "Twitter without the Nazis" and also wants you to forget that the entire network is actually the Fediverse and Mastodon is just a specific software package for running an instance. The whole idea was that smaller servers are easier to moderate and people would only federate with servers that share similar rules.

Yeah, the server I'm using is also running on Mastodon, but there is a reason why the servers that don't block you are running something else, like Pleroma, Akkoma, Misskey, or GNU Social.

Notification sent to me:

"mastodon.online reported "

.. some Russian propaganda shit...

Seriously- the hypocrisy of reporting people is getting old. It's like you insist on bringing the negatives of Twitter and other platforms to Mastodon. I get 'reporting' content to one degree or another when it comes to content that could get an instance shut down (maybe even spam), but even that is often only for those hosting in extremist regions like Europe, China, and the Middle East. Better solution: Stop hosting your shit there.

We believe in freedom of speech here and don't censor minority opinions on this instance including ones we don't like or agree with nor propaganda from political adversaries including the "left", the "right", and others except possibly where it may be something that is illegal and would threaten the instance's existence.

I realize 98% of the population can't think for themselves, but come on. This is just getting old. If you can't be an adult ... I don't know what to tell you. Go back to your echo chamber and just block our instance I guess.

>I wouldn't be surprised if another mainline Zelda is coming soon.

I thought it's been confirmed that Monolith Soft is working on the next one.

>Fox was in the Mario Galaxy movie too.

Or it could be just to create hype for the movie itself because who doesn't like a good crossover.

The reason why I am so critical about the Star Fox 64 and Ocarina of Time remakes on the Switch 2 is because I feel like N64 nostalgia hit it's peak almost a decade ago (just from people talking about it on YT among other places). It feels like Nintendo is jumping in on the bandwagon way too late, and they already done it once on the 3DS anyway.

It seems like more people are nostalgic for the GameCube, GBA, Wii, and DS right now. As much as people don't want to admit it, it's true. The GC and Wii Zelda's have already been ported to recent consoles, and I don't see them remaking Minish Cap as Capcom was also involved, but maybe it's an opportunity to remake Phantom Hourglass and Spirit Tracks and make them less shit.

"Age verification" requirements threaten to identify whistleblowers. They generally require that all users of a site prove their identities, or present video selfies which governments could use to identify them. Any attempt by a whistleblower to contact a reporter through a site that does age verification is likely to enable tyrannical rulers to identify per and crush per. This will

Far from protecting children, Illinois’ HB 5511 will effectively dismantle online anonymity, jeopardize data security, and severely restrict access to constitutionally protected speech for young people and adults alike. eff.org/deeplinks/2026/06/eff-

@gabriel @silverpill Well even then, you still need some sort of way to make digital payments for the purposes I've mentioned. Some people would rather use it in a decentralized and (somewhat) anonymous manner.

@gabriel @silverpill
>or normalize digital currenecy

I never understood this sentiment because I never hear anyone claiming that Bitcoin (or any other cryptocurrency) should replace cash. I always saw cryptocurrencies as a decentralized alternative to payment processors like PayPal and nothing more. That's what got me excited about it when I first heard about it back in 2013-2014. I always felt that we need a way to make decentralized payments over the Internet for things like donating to FOSS projects, renting VPSes, etc. You can't really do that with cash or barter, but that doesn't mean that digital currencies should replace those things.

I'm glad Ruffle does such a good job. There would have been so much weird classic homemade Flash that would have been lost. Homestar Runner forever!

@beardalaxy I would like to see games distributed via flash drives. There was some LootCrate-like service that gave you an indie game on a flash drive every month but they have long since been shutdown.

I also want to see cereal box games to make a comeback. It would be a great way to get people to try new games.

@beardalaxy @lina @PurpCat It seems like both missions were made to be shocking as possible in order to create a Streisand effect.

Took care of the bee hive yesterday. It was probably not the best day to go outside in a bee suit. After I got out all the frames and took off the bee suit, my shirt 100% drenched in sweat. I drank two cups of water, laid down on the couch and thought I was going to die 😩 ... Then I finally got up and mowed the lawn.
