@echoteecat I'm against the masks, but this argument is also wrong. Methane molecules are substantially smaller than a virus. A virus is literally made of of millions of molecules.

A mask still doesn't really protect you as the biggest vector of infection is still inside the home after prolonged exposure, and a mask isn't going to help at all in that case. You're breathing that stuff all around your house, not to mention the basic fact viruses are small enough to make it through both cloth and surgical masks.

Even in a surgical theater, masks don't eliminate all vectors of infection. They just help reduce them. After someone is cut open to remove a tumor, they are still put on antibiotics for all the bacteria that did get in the wound.
