I put my mom on Linux 2-3 days ago. It actually works great because Winblows 10 was eating more RAM than you can imagine and all she wanted to do was zoom call and excel and chrome.

@matana obviously you have to do things in moderation and not hover over them and take away all of their privacy because they still deserve some too. But education first and foremost is good. For my kids it'll probably be something like using KeePass so I have access to their passwords, requiring a password to get on the computer that's in the living room, and not giving them a smartphone at age 12 that they can do whatever the fuck on. Will they get around blocks and use stuff at their friends houses? Yeah, probably, but that's what proper education is for, including internet privacy and security :)

Children are a blessing from the Lord Jeff. The world is not overpopulated and it would be impossible to overpopulate it. If fact the vast majority of the Earth's surface is uninhabited. If you took every human being on earth and put them shoulder to shoulder, back to back they would cover the area of the city of Jacksonville Florida.

Actually having a large population is a strength and an asset to a nation. China and Japan are finally realizing this and relaxing laws and promoting families and children.
