@LukeAlmighty Difference in myth/lost in translation. Kami isn't a god like Yahweh. Kami is more like a powerful spirit.

Seriously though, what is with the Japanese obsession with killing gods?

@pyrate
I think this video is the most informative on the topic, because he goes both to the benefits and disadvantages. Although, the horror cases of blur get MUCH WORSE then shown here.

I love the idea of ray-tracing, but when I looked deeper into it, it seems to be built completely around need for upscaling and TAA.

@Curvin
No, it's even worse.
Game looking like shit can be tollerated, but my eyes unironically hurt from pleying this game. And I cannot get ovet it.

I went to a several rants about the MH already, but this is just.... boiling my blood. I was so hyped for the new game only to get this.

Please, could you circle for me the sharp area of the screen? Any single place, where that my eye could focus on and rest seeing 8*8px area, that is completely sharp and in focus?

@Mr_NutterButter
I do hear this argument quite often, but here would be my argument against it.
1) I do not believe, that this does make people act moral. I went to a christian primary school, and the nihilism there was exactly the same as outside of it. The christians didn't seem to be actually driven by that ideology in any meaningful way, and the only thing it did create was an in-group out-group dynamic. (that can be good, but only, if the group is the correct size and internally enpathetic)

2) this description sounds to me like the lowest possible form of "survival level" morality with no space to grow. If you believe, that christianity serves this, I can accept it, but using this argument puts it on the same level as moral fast food.

@Mr_NutterButter
This reminds me of the midwits, who hate me for not engaging with them about scientific studies.

You threw a name of a peper on me. So what?
It is 20 pages long, and let's assume, that it actually does contain the data sheet too. It would take me 2 days of active reading to get through the reading in a propper way. And another 1 day to go through the data. To do anything less would be blasphemous, considering, that it's science we're talking about.

But that is not what they did, or what they expect me to do. They read the abstract, and they expect me to retort with another abstract from a different article. But that is some playground shit. That is the good old "my father has a bigger paper stack, and he could beat you" kind of argumentation.

But they always get angry at me, when I say, that I do not accept their citation as an argument.

How do you create the best motion blur effect possible?

This is scientifically proven to be the most accurate way btw.
1) You move shit on the screen
2) Your shitty eyes will do the rest

Adding more blur makes the thing literally blurier then real life. And that's a BAD thing.

Welcome to literally my explanation of libertarianism.

Me: I will not let myself be forced to do an immoral decision by anyone, including the fucking government. I need freedom to pursue the good life.

And then, there is always that asshole, who responds with: Oh, you're a libertarian. So, you support trans people's right to transition.

NO!!! My higher goals are to pursue a moral life, and castrating kids is literally the oposite of that goal. And if that wasn't enough, the assumption, that I have to support their cause only because they mis-appllied the word "freedom" to describe it is in fact again the act of pushing me to be immoral.

But that's life. Most people think in words, but not in the abstract concepts these words describe, so they cannot possibly notice such a slide of hand.

Can we please just spam this to all the game developers who still don't get it?

@Mr_NutterButter
I absolutely agree. And I see the colonization of other planets literally the same way. There is no greater beacon of humanity's hope then seeing us colonize the stars.

And then.... There is always that one idiot who jumps in saying: But that isn't economically viable. That is not the point Neil.
