@captain_arepa @fuggy @MercurialBlack @dwite39@pawoo.net that period of time may have been because pawoo actually got its domain frozen for hosting illegal content. but it's unknown whether that was CP or just uncensored nudity considering it's based in japan. the site was still accessible, but the domain was dead. i can imagine that would come with some strange federation issues.
i would highly recommend people who are currently on pawoo and are not just coomer retards to go to a different instance. if they want art, baraag is a good place to go typically but they are not federating right now so maybe not the best thing to transition to currently, but having another spot to go to then transferring everything over once they're in full operation could be good.

@fuggy @LukeAlmighty i was using yandex right when DDG started censoring shit but i quickly found that yandex is not that great of a search engine. it never gave me that great of results, and clicking anything opens it up in a new tab instead of the same one which got annoying.
i use brave browser and brave search. honestly, brave search is pretty damn good, better than DDG ever was. i'm a big fan of the browser's built in adblock and how it blocks cookie popups now and just rejects all automatically. the wallet shit is something i always immediately disable because i don't care at all, but everything else about the browser is top notch.

@LukeAlmighty google's ads at the top of the search results have ALWAYS been sketchy as FUCK. my roommate downloaded GPU drivers from one of the ads and i had to unfuck everything.

@newt @kaede@ilyamikcoder.com @cjd yeah this is probably JUST talking about loli stuff, i'd be willing to bet. even when GLC had a problem with a bunch of pedos coming over we never had anyone actually post CP. i've only (unfortunately) seen it once and it was from i think mstdn.jp. i don't think it's a problem for the vast majority of people unless they're *specifically* looking for it.
unless it's on instances that block us, which there are plenty of. maybe there's a legion of people posting CP on some mastodon server that blocks GLC and we'll never know 
this is especially stunning coming after twitter and meta's actual CP problems that went and still go criminally underreported.

The trick to IRL activism is that the only thing you can feasibly accomplish is making your enemies paranoid and deranged, so you should maximize for that. That means do so anonymously, with no pudgy loser waddling around shouting slogans and asking for money.
The guys who put up funny posters with no self-promoting URL, project messages that drive journos insane without claiming responsibility - those are the guys being relatively productive.
Being a useful rightie means being an anon. You will not be "the leader", you will not get prestige - you get to laugh at your enemies and do good, and that's the only compensation you should be after.
