@LukeAlmighty @matana I've made this observation before too. It's kind of hard to explain, but a LOT of gamers and even people who are typically not gamers (think like, female twitch streamers who only play LoL) enjoy these games despite them being pretty challenging.

A good example is that in my entire friend group, even extended friend group, I'm the ONLY one who bought Kirby instead of Elden Ring. That's like a 1:10 ratio. Not counting online friends.

I think part of it for many is because of the social aspect, where everyone is getting the game to talk to each other about it. It's about being part of the experience, everyone figuring stuff out about the game from day one together. It reminds me a lot of like, Marvel movies, where everyone is going to watch it so they can talk to their friends about it. Not the only reason of course, but still a big reason.

This kind of happened with the Harry Potter game as well. All of my friends bought it but I was saving my money for Tears of the Kingdom. Again, I'm the only person who bought that one. When everyone bought Doom Eternal, I bought Animal Crossing.

What I think might be happening, for the most part, is that non-gamer normies/kids will go for something like Kirby/Animal Crossing and think Elden Ring is not their thing. Gamer normies will go for something like Elden Ring and think Kirby is not their thing. So you get a weird mix of total normies and weird gamers playing Kirby, while the majority of gamers are playing Elden Ring.

Does that make more sense?

I think Zelda burned me out on games in general... I can't bring myself to go back to BG3 even though I like it.
That's a shame because I was gaming a lot more this year. I like playing games but man I just don't want to play anything right now.

massive budgets and increasing scope are killing the AAA games industry

it's not sustainable to keep making these huge games that have much more quantity than they do quality

@xianc78 a barber is nice for special occasions or for cleaning up the little mistakes that add up over time. I trim my own beard and have a lot of techniques for it but I'd like to get to a barber at some point to get it perfect.

"Being a busy adult" is not an excuse to blow people off after you've made plans with them.

@justnormalkorean SOMEONE'S gotta keep them employed! These girls used to be able to just show some skin at races or conventions but now they all have to make onlyfans accounts.

@Titanbreakerkun @justnormalkorean i haven't played since launch but they've reworked so much shit i'd have to start a new character lol. that's been preventing me from playing it again. when phantom liberty comes out i'll have to though.

i didn't like the beginning of the game because it wasn't really what i expected, but as i played more i ended up really enjoying it. i hated the ending though lol, didn't really make sense for my character tbh.

fun gameplay. i just used a katana and fucked everyone up the whole time xD my favorite was driving a car into what was supposed to be a stealth mission, getting out at the right time to blow it up when it got into the compound and then just went ham. lots of cool moments in the game for sure.

plus the music is fucking awesome. i don't see how starfield will ever be able to top that experience, it's just way too different of a game.
