@matrix actually though, I can't drive either way but alcohol does help with my seizures if I only drink a little bit lol.
What is the best western life action adaptation of anime?
@LukeAlmighty I've heard Edge of Tomorrow is good but I haven't seen it (although I think that's a manga adaptation, along with Alita). Honestly I really liked Ghost in the Shell, fuck the haters.
@matrix the closest i've found is liquid drum and bass? it's not quite as moody as i'd like though. sounds more like it belongs in a wipeout game and less like driving a car at night.
@Jean_Philippe_Micheaux @Matty @MelGibsonafter4Beers @Skringot after seeing what death stranding turned out to be, and finding out that the majority of the good writing in mgs wasn't even done by kojima, i am so fucking glad silent hills didn't get created in the end.
now we have blooper team making a remake of the best silent hill and "modernizing" it. i'm still hopeful for silent hill f and am especially intrigued about the one from annapurna. although it is unfortunate that they seem to be moving away from silent hill as a location with shf, it looks more like a fatal frame or forbidden siren game but i hope it'll still be good.
@solidsanek i've been getting a lot more into racing games lately. i have always loved them but i've been on a kick.
hot wheels unleashed 2 comes out on the 19th. first game was actually really good for being about toy cars. some really awesome drifting mechanics.
i've been playing need for speed unbound too. the dialogue, music, and story suck ass. the graphics that appear on the vehicles are annoying (unless you go with cloaked tags then it looks pretty nice actually). but the driving is pretty damn good once you learn what the game wants from you. you get yellow nitrous boost from doing drifts and when you use those your car actually defies physics and goes straight in whatever direction the nose is pointing. pretty interesting. i ended up sticking to more grippy cars for a more traditional experience.
can't complain much when EA access comes with game pass and it's $5 otherwise. i'd recommend playing need for speed hot pursuit remastered as well, that is probably the best *car* racing game i've ever played.
@icedquinn @MusicVideoGuy classless is good too, but SotDL is a damn good compromise.
i actually made my zombie survival ttrpg system classless. you build up your own class. you start with all your skills being 0 and can increase/decrease any of them by 3, but you have to have a total sum of 0 with all your skills. then you can add positive traits and negative traits, but have to have an equal amount of both. each day you survive, you gain another skill point to assign. if your character dies, you lose 1d3 skill points for your next one.
thought that was a pretty good system, i actually really enjoyed making it and running it. only did it once though unfortunately :P
@MusicVideoGuy @icedquinn the way classes work is fucking awesome. it is meant for darker campaigns, but the people behind it have been working on "shadow of the weird wizard" for a while as well that will be more light hearted. insanity plays a large part in SotDL.
the creator i believe worked on d&d 5e but left because of creative differences, and just made his own thing instead.
one of their main problems was that there was that you don't roll for initiative, it's just the players that go and then the enemies, and they can even change what order they go in each round. i think they were worried i would exploit it in favor of the enemies, but nothing is stopping them from exploiting it in their favor either. i was going to try warming them up to the concept in our 5e campaign by giving one of the guys a magic item that would let him do that once per long rest, just rearrange the combat order as they saw fit, but the campaign/group fell apart right before that happened unfortunately.
@icedquinn i wasn't even trying to get them to play something that crazy, it was just shadow of the demon lord which is as close to d&d as you can get without being d&d :L
@Zerglingman @A_Small_Dog @Paulyfrog64 i only go on /v/ during GDQ or when waiting for a game to leak and that's pretty much the only time i've been on 4chan period
@Koropokkur not even that, i had an uber driver complaining to me that his tesla battery was only like 2/3 of what it used to be and he's almost been stranded a few times because of it. he's only had the thing for a couple of years.
