@InvincibleSugar @msmonako why is she so damn cute no matter what she's doing
@Meemoo @inTrax Evidently, all signs currently point to it being backwards compatible with not only physical cartridges but also all controllers. I'm guessing it'll probably be more or less the Switch but better. it worked out so damn well for them and it let them consolidate their handheld and console markets into one, i highly doubt they go back on that.
@Mr_NutterButter mine is "head empty react on sight only"
Mobile Suit Gundam SEED FREEDOM 2 was dope! Despite knowing literally nothing about Gundam I enjoyed it a lot! The action scenes were great, the soundtrack was awesome, the translation seemed really good or at least free from BS. There wasn't ever a time where I noticed the characters saying something that wasn't in the subs (with my limited Japanese knowledge). There was an adequate amount of fan service, used for comedic effect too.
The storyline was good! Draws some good parallels to the real world with the "security versus liberty" argument, as well as the kinds of people who usually pick each side. There's a love story in there as well and I saw some reviews saying it was cheesy, but it's honestly not any different from the regular anime love tropes. Something about characters that will fight for each other no matter what always pulls at the heartstrings, even when the dialogue is like "OUR HEARTS WILL ALWAYS BE COLLECTED!" It's something you don't really see in western media and I live for it.
You can't go watch it now probably, since it was a limited time thing. Once it comes to streaming platforms or wherever else though I'd definitely recommend watching it. Loved it! Not too much else it could have done better, besides maybe not using so much 3D but even then I got used to that pretty quickly.
With the recent news of ProtonMail, I would like to remind you that ProtonMail has been a honeypot for a while. Just look at their transparency report on their website. They also don't allow you to generate private GPG/PGP keys client-side (the only person who should have access to your private GPG key is you).
Anyway here are some alternatives I recommend (not sponsored by any of them):
* Fedora Mail (https://fedora.email/) (Registrations are currently disabled) - An email service run by @j who also runs bae.st. It's funded by donations, supports mail clients, and even the ability to encrypt clear-text emails in your inbox using your public GPG key.
* Disroot (https://disroot.org/en) - Run by @muppeth, along with other volunteers. Provides a bunch of services including email. Supports custom domains if you donate. Free to use for non-commercial purposes.
* Posteo (https://posteo.de/en) - Paid service (1 EUR/month). Hosted in Germany. Accepts payments in cash via mail. Offers the ability to encrypt your inbox, contacts, and spam folder using your password.
* Self-hosted - Do your own research. Only recommended for those with the technical knowledge.
Granted, you should never trust any provider because you never know what they are doing unless you have physical access to their servers, but these services seem to be a lot more trustworthy than ProtonMail, Tutanota, and other honeypots.
@dailyslurbot "commonly"
@xianc78 Yeah, I'm not a really big fan of shilling, I only bring up the game when it makes sense. I'd also rather not post the game on places I don't plan on being at least somewhat active. I'm on RPGCodex, I still need to post my game thread there though so thanks for the reminder! I've also got it on RPG Maker Web and RPG Maker Net, which are obviously very much geared toward RPG Maker games and where I expect to get the majority of my players.
Hmm... I wonder...
I might be able to take advantage of the YT algo to get my game out there.
Thumbnail could be that painting of the main antagonist. It's mysterious, cloaked, dark, and he has a wicked almost cheshire-like grin.
Then the title could be something along the lines of "I spent 9 years making this game..." or "This game took nearly a decade to make..."
I'd set up a script to talk about the game and its development in a sort of dramatic but historical way, make the video at least 10 minutes. Basically like a little documentary about how the game came to be.
I see a lot of videos like this from random channels being recommended to me all the time. Their other videos will have a much lower view count comparatively.
Think it could be a viable strategy.
