@LukeAlmighty it doesn't work in incognito, it can be turned off, it's stored locally, and by default it only works on the last 3 months of activity. it also is specifically available for laptops with a certain snapdragon processor.
@LukeAlmighty it doesn't work in incognito mode ![]()
@LukeAlmighty pokemon go is made by niantic but yes anyway lol
@matrix and this is why AI is still bad, it can't understand context xD
@berkberkman @PurpCat @Kyonko802 infamous second son looks a lot better. Fucking love that game. Sucker Punch has their finger on the pulse of making realistic looking games that still have a lot of style.
Sunset Overdrive looked pretty sick too. Didn't enjoy the game a whole lot but I like the graffics
@PurpCat @berkberkman @Kyonko802 prey looks pretty cool actually, I wanna get around to playing it some day.
A game I think is VERY stylistically bold is the system shock remake. It uses these awesome low resolution textures to great effect.
@PurpCat @berkberkman @Kyonko802 characters still looked sharp and characterized although realistic and they butchered that going forward.
@PurpCat @berkberkman @Kyonko802 tlou killed my PS3 back then lol. Killzone 3 also looks very pretty imo. Last of us was kind of the start of this trend and it still does it the best imo. Even better than its own remake.
@xianc78 nah it's fine. it'll definitely connotate a dark tone. i could see a warhammer game with genocide in its title, for instance.
@Spingebill @Kyonko802 genshin is one of those games that sort of copied breath of the wild's look, but i think it does it pretty well and yeah, it's optimized too.
cs2 is actually super pretty. those fog effects are so satisfying. i love the lighting too. it's all very visually striking and, most importantly, doesn't look like an unreal store asset flip.
@PurpCat @berkberkman @Kyonko802 i wouldn't say nobody is making games like that. ratchet and clank rift apart is sublime. the characters are so expressive too. the remake back in i think 2014 was also really good, but most of its cutscenes were pre-rendered as opposed to rift apart which is all done realtime iirc.
kingdom hearts 3 also went for this look but i don't think it nailed it 100%. it still looks pretty video-gamey.
@berkberkman @Kyonko802 you can upscale those games right up to 1080p and, minus the old textures (mainly HUD ones), they still look amazing. it was the perfect time where there were still limitations but graphics were starting to heat up.
nintendo in general does a really good job with their art styles being more important than the realism, to the point where there are games that just look like they are copying their art style, which you can't say of these realistic graphics because a leaf will look like a leaf no matter what.
a great example of a game with realistic graphics but one that is still more stylistically driven is ghost of tsushima. look at this shit and tell me it's not better than horizon or hellblade.
@icedquinn i watched him the entirety of the kyle rittenhouse case and he had great coverage with a cool team of other youtube lawyers tuning in. seeing him now is pretty unfortunate.
@MoeBritannica don't pay attention to horrible business practices, we have gay black guy as our protagonist
@Tamamo @MoeBritannica afro samurai was also made by a japanese guy and is cool af.
@Kyonko802 video game graphics that are going for realism will never be the "best looking game ever." art style is what makes a game's graphics last, and that's why so many are so nostalgic for the 16-bit era graphics because the art on display in a lot of those games was absolutely stunning. and there's a reason why so many indie horror games love using the ps1 aesthetic.
this intense focus on realism is part of what balloons video game budgets.
i've NEVER seen a game have water that looks as good as mario sunshine's does and that game is on the FUCKING GAMECUBE.
