disregard everything i said about this mod earlier...
i guess i was just being retarded and didn't plug in those tiny plugs all the way. i put in tons of force trying to get those in and nothing worked. tried again today and they just pushed in like it was nothing.

@xianc78 i think there is a difference between "appealing to western tastes" and taking inspiration from western themes. silent hill is another good example of a game that is inspired by the west but isn't doing what sakurai talks about. the article mentions silent hill f with the director talking about how he feels that silent hill had become too westernized (which it really had been post team silent), so he wanted to change the game's setting to japan in order to get some of that japanese feeling back.

that being said, i have never played startropics so i'm not exactly sure how it relates.

@matrix i've only played ac2 and bloodlines and that was over 10 years ago at this point so i don't remember too well lol. just kind of a weird choice.

assassin's creed shadows, even in english mode, does the whole "keikaku means plan" thing where the characters will sometimes say random words in japanese and then it'll provide an english translation in parentheses. bruh, if you're playing it in english why not translate the whole thing? i can understand leaving certain words in that don't translate to english as well, but when it's just "father" or "tomb" that's kind of cringe tbh.
