Most games people play and then move on even if they have amazing characters. Gacha shit is designed to get you addicted and suck your money away so the girls will of course stick in your mind and proliferate more.

The truth is that ue5 is extremely powerful, but it enables developers to be extremely lazy because it simplifies so much stuff. This has been the case with unreal engine since ue3 at least, it's just that games are so massively bloated that time spent developing isn't going where it is supposed to go.
