Tl;dr the $5000 number is practically nonsense and he thinks it is more likely that 16gb cards raise about $100 and the higher ones raise a few hundred. There is also the fact that more chip manufacturing plants are being built state side over the next couple of years, so we might see a bit of a struggle period for a little bit here but it should smooth out.

Used market will just be your friend for a little bit :)

@djsumdog @merchantHelios @berkberkman @coolboymew @ooignignoktoo well there are two plants currently being built in the US AFAIK and they are being expedited, and the AI bubble definitely is going to pop at some point I think, so the prices will definitely come down. They have shot up and then gone way down considerably before too, though not quite as much.

@flux_the_cat uncharted 2 is peak video games tbh, I would recommend it for sure. Last of Us has an amazing story, gameplay is serviceable enough. Thankfully uncharted 4 still had amazing gameplay because the story was not great. Last of Us 2 has neither going for it.

And then of course the old stuff like crash bandicoot and jak and daxter is great too.

When I do upgrade it'll probably be to 12th Gen since it's the last one that works with ddr4. If the ram prices are still fucked, at least.

@ooignignoktoo @djsumdog @merchantHelios @berkberkman @coolboymew I still have a scuffed as fuck 2080ti, and I only play at 1080p for the most part. There are some games I do really need a cpu upgrade for but yeah for the most part I'm still good playing at high graphics even without dlss.
