Ooh the true ending of Star Fox has a little bit alluding to a potential sequel? :meru_ayyyy:

@p @VD15 @ForbiddenDreamer @romin adventures sucks as a star fox game. I actually really like Assault but dammit it doesn't have nearly as much on rails missions as it should. We don't talk about Command. Zero was a good game with the worst control scheme possible. As a huge star fox fan, getting a remake of 64 is the exact thing I want because it's the best one and it'll hopefully springboard the series into life again without it getting hijacked.

@p @rain @VD15 @ForbiddenDreamer it's on NSO as well if you pay the $20 a year. I'm not a huge fan of the SNES games though, the frame rate kills me.

@p @VD15 indeed it does, and I still think the best way to play the game is on PC with Starship to get that 60+ fps and widescreen. But Star Fox on the Switch 2 is still really good, I'm enjoying it. Haven't gotten to the multiplayer yet but judging from what I've seen from videos it looks like a massive step up from the original's. Only downside is that it still follows the trend of not having splitscreen. Reminds me that Kirby Air Riders really is a banger of a game.

@tomie for me it's about honor/integrity and it's about being taken seriously instead of becoming a caricature of a person. We've spent years talking about liberals getting triggered over things and a lot of us are now doing it also and it's gay as fuck.

@peepeepoopoocahcah1 yeah that's the point it isn't a studio full of nepo hire jeets they've actually got a good thing going on. Just some people were seeing the director was Indian and got immediately triggered by it.

@teto XSS is now more expensive than a switch 2 for the next few months lmao. Why the fuck would you buy that thing?

@JustDisa I would have liked backrooms a lot more if it was focused on the research team instead of a nigga with an attitude and his retarded shrink.

@p @VD15 well good news you can just mute the voices and skip the cutscenes then :)

@ChristiJunior i love the dialogue choices between all the main characters, hearing the new characterization is awesome. they sound a lot different than they used to but i don't necessarily think it is bad.

the bosses leave a lot to be desired though, including andross. they just don't sound menacing enough. like i love the fact that the shogun says "this is an honorable death..." but the line delivery is just so bad.

that's about as much as i have to really criticize though, the rest of the game is fucking awesome with only little minor nitpicks.

@p @VD15 same here. the remake really does it justice and it adds in so much supplementary lore that already existed but is now woven directly into the game instead of hidden away in guidebooks and comics and stuff.

i'm really hoping nintendo lets the studio continue with more star fox games, this is exactly what i want going forward.

i saw some people immediately jumping to the conclusion that since the lead of the studio is indian the game would be shit but i think this is one of those times it is not the case. remember to keep a slice of your humanity guys.

@HatkeshiatorTND it's funny how often I was told that writing "xmas" instead of "Christmas" was sacrilegious because it was made by people trying to remove Christ from our lives. Same kind of thing with pentagrams automatically being satanic.

@Jens_Rasmussen yup! he basically just talked about how they formed a the new reprise circle to start bringing games over to consoles and a bunch of different languages.

In a very stupid turn of events, Fantia has now announced they're going to completely reverse their initial regulation of all 2D art on the platform, which would have required heavy/total obscuring beyond the usual black bars/mosaics on nudity.

https://news.denfaminicogamer.jp/news/2606253n

The reason for their reversal is that they finally received "clarification" from the National Police Agency that their intended area of concerns was 3D/real pornography (so called "doujin AV") and not 2D illustrations.

Why they didn't seek this clarification before panicking their entire userbase, compelling people to either painstakingly go back over years of work to apply ugly black bars or else delete their entire body of work on the site, remains a mystery. I can't imagine there's a whole lot of artists rushing back to Fantia to use it.

I don't know whether to pin more blame to the NPA or Fantia here. I could easily imagine the police threatening to come down on them like a ton of bricks while being vague (as they usually are), frightening the execs into over-regulating. But at the same time, the fact that Fantia just folded like wet cardboard and didn't even push back a little bit at their entire business model (and their loyal userbase of many years) being held over a barrel out of nowhere speaks to their cowardice and shitty management.

As the saying goes, "the purpose of a system is what it does". And what's happened here is that the police can technically say they have clean hands, they just weren't clear enough at the start. But Fantia's probably going to take a financial hit over this, and in this economy there's a possibility they might go under because of it. Part of me wonders if this wasn't the intention all along.
