@hideki this video is hilarious lol, the woman walking right past the cat on fire and the cat just sitting there doing nothing, then the fire just... putting itself out.
@matana what game?
@xenmen i'm not a huge fan of card games but it looked interesting. i will probably suck ass at it and i'm unfortunately not going to be around when he does the happy hour this week. if it's a big success though and i'm free next week i might hop on!
@Riamu @LordMordred that's why a lot of places have the family locker rooms where it's kind of like co-ed and it's just in the mind of everyone that you should really only be going in there if you are in a family that can't go into a gendered room, but i remember as a kid seeing fathers taking their daughters into the male locker room when there wasn't another option. i mean, that's a lot more acceptable than going into the women's one as an adult male or even sending them in there by themselves.
maybe that's changed because i haven't gone swimming at a public pool for over a decade but at least that's how it used to be.
just watched nick robinson's video on phantom dust: https://youtu.be/_BDClzHu-ho
it's a free game and apparently a lot of people like it. anyone here on fedi have any experience with it?
@Riamu @LordMordred idk where you guys live but in utah we have plenty of public pools and a lot of them have totally out in the open showers, lockers, and some even have separate ones for families instead of just male/female rooms.
@picandor blue waffles bruh
@Jabrosa14 I thought that was made pretty obvious by the trailer.
The thing is, marvel movies will be taking themselves seriously for most of the movie but then there will randomly be a forced joke and it always feels way out of place. Super hero stuff CAN be goofy and still be really good, but it has to be the main focus and not take itself too seriously. Prime example is the Adam West Batman series. It's pure comedy and pure genius. It's probably my favorite Batman, might even be my favorite superhero stuff ever (next to the original Spiderman trilogy and Spiderverse). Deadpool is another one that had the balance down really well, but the second one I thought went a little overboard on the humor. Same thing with Guardians of the Galaxy versus the sequel.
I also really liked Logan for the opposite reason. It wasn't dark and edgy like Dark Knight or anything but it didn't fuck around with humor. They played it straight and it worked really well. The X-Men movies were always kind of like that though. I'm glad that they have kept them separate.
