@KonataWagner1066 @LukeAlmighty @Barry this is why my game has a toggle for voices haha, just in case people find them annoying.
@LukeAlmighty @KonataWagner1066 it is still skill based, the amount of skill you have just plays in tandem to how many points you have to use in the minigame. It's exactly like a ttrpg. If I wanted to convince a bandit captain I was already part of his crew, the stat check would be much higher than if I were to just try to persuade him to give me a job, but if the former was successful due to my higher persuasion skill, I would have an instant job as a bandit instead of needing to prove my worth.
Kind of shitty example but you get what I mean. Same thing could happen with like, price haggling for instance.
I think you have far more control over your character this way, and it makes the NPCs you are talking to feel more dynamic.
@KonataWagner1066 @LukeAlmighty I'm just a whore for outer space stuff haha, I don't even like Skyrim that much if it's not modded and really don't like fallout even when it is modded.
@ehhh I don't even have one
@SuperDicq calling your associates "cutie" as a manager is worse than letting them just wear the cat ears in their photo
@alex hey I have a song about this
@KonataWagner1066 @LukeAlmighty fallout 4 has a voiced protagonist, Skyrim doesn't. Starfield doesn't either. More voice lines doesn't necessarily equal more quests, but more detail. I'm thinking it'll be closer to morrowind but actually voiced instead of a lot of text you have to read.
As far as rpg vs no man's sky, it's pretty clear to me that it is the former. No man's sky is much more of an open exploration space sim with a story that takes a background role. Starfield is inspired by that kind of game, but also by an actual TTRPG and it has plenty of rpg elements that have been missing from Bethesda games for a long time, like player character backgrounds.
I doubt we will see intense stuff like land terraforming, or as much biodiversity as there is in no man's sky. The focus of the game is different.
The persuasion system seems really cool, instead of it being one stat check it's more of a minigame with multiple checks depending on what you say, which is how a TTRPG would typically work too.
@mangeurdenuage considering I recently had a dream where I lived out 2 entire days, I can imagine being asleep for 3 weeks would feel like years.
Starfield is shaping up to be a pretty insane game. I have to keep telling myself to not get excited about it, but so much seems to be improved and the modding potential is off the charts.
@Mr_NutterButter @xianc78 it was a bad time for me to see this
@matana @LukeAlmighty I guess unless they mentioned that in the terms of getting your $15.
But I mean, it's only $15. There probably would not be enough people doing that for them to care.
The real way to make off with it and still get your PayPal account deactivated though wouldn't be to manually do it, but to break their TOS so the ball is in their court lmao
@MK2boogaloo this would unironically be me if my brain didn't try to kill me every time i tried to go swole
