@xianc78 yeah I've already had to cut a decent amount of stuff that may never get added back in. I've definitely come to accept that I will have to cut more. Every time I start working on a new thing though there is always something unprecedented that happens that slows down the development xD

@matana just because it's a "major part of socializing" doesn't mean it is good or healthy. I'd much rather have my kids hanging out with friends IRL or working on hobbies than going stale being on social media and painting a digital footprint that may never be erased. All that's needed is friends' phone numbers for texting/calling.

It's not like suicide among youth has been increasing since the inception of this stuff, or anything.

What would you do? I'm not saying I'll go scorched earth, Amish household or anything, but I think in order for someone to develop healthily they shouldn't live on social media. There needs to be a good, healthy balance.

@matana obviously you have to do things in moderation and not hover over them and take away all of their privacy because they still deserve some too. But education first and foremost is good. For my kids it'll probably be something like using KeePass so I have access to their passwords, requiring a password to get on the computer that's in the living room, and not giving them a smartphone at age 12 that they can do whatever the fuck on. Will they get around blocks and use stuff at their friends houses? Yeah, probably, but that's what proper education is for, including internet privacy and security :)

@LukeAlmighty learn the parts of the guitar first. Then learn how to tune it. Then learn what each string at standard tuning is (EADGBE), and how they change by going up the neck. Your first lesson shouldn't be learning or playing a song, it should be getting familiar with the guitar itself.
