@Kyonko802 @Nanakoko @Suzu the only time i really cringe when people are using bluetooth buds or something is when it is beats or raycons. they are very overpriced and the lows are ball busting to the point of fucking with the rest of the music. going in between those and even airpods is night and day difference.

@Kyonko802 @Nanakoko @Suzu i can tell the difference between a 320kbps file and high bitrate FLAC but the difference is extremely subtle and not really worth the extra storage space. it's really only useful if you're going to be chilling in your room alone listening to a whole uncompressed album.

bluetooth earbuds have gotten way better these days, they can still have latency issues but that's not a problem for just listening to music. anything in-ear isn't going to sound as good as on-ear but there are a lot of audio engineering tricks that are used to make it sound pretty good. most of the time i'm listening to music it's actually through shokz, which are those bone conductor thingies. audio quality is not good whatsoever and if i turn them up past halfway the left one starts to distort on high notes but they leave my ears open and are still certainly listenable. i fuckin hate having anything inside of my ears and headphones are a little too bulky to carry around so the shokz are perfect.

@Kyonko802 @Nanakoko @Suzu best two headphones you can get unless you want open backs. i personally like the m40x better just because i like the sound signature, but if you're going for accuracy then the m50x are about as good as you're going to get.

once it gets to open backs though you'll have a better sound stage, however there's zero isolation so you've gotta' have a quiet place to listen to them and you most definitely can't record with them. they're usually more expensive for the same level of quality. monitors are great for that sort of thing too.

@VIPPER going to the beach is lame. Going to the lake is where it's at.

square enix what the fuck
i've NEVER seen a game bundle that doesn't let you get it for cheaper if already own one of the games

@sapphire yeah i do that for some games too, or watch story recaps and the like. but if it's a game where i still actually want to play it but there's one thing that irks me i'd like to get rid of, i'd rather opt for that.

@susie if i like a game a lot though, i will play harder difficulty modes or content to get more out of it and challenge myself. doesn't usually happen, but for devil may cry for instance i'll usually play harder difficulties.

@susie i was just thinking about this because i was hearing about how a custom runescape client has a plugin that helps you solve a slider puzzle. yeah, for the first few times, solving it is fun, but after that it really does just become tedium.

i gave myself infinite ammo playing sunset overdrive because the game was sort of dragging on for me and i'm not a fan of "protect the stronghold!" kind of segments in games, so for those moments having infinite ammo to just obliterate stuff was nice and it made me enjoy the game more.

i think that's the key. if there's something you don't enjoy about a game but still like the rest of it, if there is a way to fix it then go ahead.

for the system shock remake, i downloaded a mod that disables enemy respawning. the game is heavy on backtracking and clearing floors to unlock everything and having these enemies constantly respawning with no way to get extra ammo to deal with them was getting really annoying. and there's no way of stealthing around enemies either... you sort of can, but in most cases they end up hunting you down and their AI is pretty relentless.

when i play kingdom hearts chain of memories, i'm probably going to see if there is a mod/cheat that gives better cards more frequently or something because i hate playing with the cards but i still want to play through the game.

stuff like that. i wouldn't say "oh just use infinite health and use a mod to one shot enemies for elden ring" because that doesn't really make the game FUN it just lets you blow through it. maybe something like a double XP mod so you don't have to grind levels out if you don't have time for it. or, what i've been looking at, a moveset mod that gives you better and faster movement options akin to a devil may cry game.

there's a line between fun and cheap and you have to find that line yourself i guess is what i'm trying to say.

If you're an adult with limited time and just want to beat games, playing on the easiest difficulty or even using cheats and mods to help you beat them is totally fine. I wouldn't just jump to it by default, give it a real try first, but sometimes you just don't have time for it, especially with just how many games are out there if you want to play more of them.

@sapphire @Fiddle @waifu @skylar @mischievoustomato nah, they make money. the most notable way is from their ad revenue stream (they get 30% and users get 70% in the form of BAT) but they sell subscriptions for other services like their VPN.

they also sell merch, but idk how popular that is. i know that the majority of money musicians get is from merch (right next to touring) and that content creators usually make a decent amount from merch drops, but for a browser it's probably not nearly as much.

@sapphire @Fiddle @waifu @skylar @mischievoustomato idk i haven't had any problems with them and their search engine isn't too bad either. the CEO was the co-founder of mozilla and the dude invented javascript so i don't think he really needed a revenue stream lol. he left mozilla because he was against gay marriage so idk if you'd call him "pozzed" necessarily.

@mischievoustomato @Fiddle @waifu @skylar @sapphire i was gonna say, firefox has had consistently higher memory usage and it's slower. edge is actually really good on both fronts but it's MS shit and i don't wanna' use it. i still think brave with the wallet shit disabled is the best browser out there atm, especially if you don't wanna' fuck around with flags and add-ons. brave's adblocker being a part of the browser itself is a huge bonus.
