@xianc78 they have started doing this sort of thing downtown where I live actually. They're pretty expensive, but yeah it's like housing on top of stores. Works pretty well.

There is a very simple way to have "walkable-cities" without any central planning or any of that 15-minute, smart-city crap. Just allow residential and commercial zones to mix. Allow people with big enough houses to run shops in them.

I know a lot of local stores and restaurants that were renovated from former houses. Just remove the walls between the kitchen and living room, and have the bedrooms be employee offices then you will have enough space to run a store.

You can take that one step further. Why not have a house with a store attached? A garage can be converted into a small shop or you can have the other side of a duplex be a store. Japan has tons of houses with stores attached. There are even apartment building with something like a 7/11 at the bottom.

See? A simple solution that doesn't involve demolishing entire towns and rebuilding them or building expensive railways that would require evicting a bunch of people and destroying their homes just to make room. Car-dependent cities are a result of central planning, not the other way around.

>news article about the state university getting rid of their DEI office
>conservatives claiming victory in the comments
>their press release says in no uncertain terms that they're still committed to doing the work of DEI (hey where have i heard that phrasing before?) and the centralized approach is no longer right

the BRIDGE initiative is going to be a complete success because literally everyone on the right who didn't watch a brain damaged fox woman on the internet go down a campbells soup rabbit hole thinks they're winning and companies are getting rid of DEI

@hindudindu the story needs to start with him not taking enough fentanyl to kill a man

@tomie that's what I think but it's what everyone uses for 3d!

@leyonhjelm @dick @justnormalkorean @LordOfTheKangs i usually get the same guy and they always have it to me within 30 minutes of my order so i'd say they're doing a good job. the place i order from has great pizza too. it's really good cold or reheated even.

which one makes more sense to you?
i feel like this is kinda like the difference between skateboarding stances lol

@LukeAlmighty long story short, fillian's model is an edited one from a vr chat model store and she tried to make a nendoroid of herself but got cock blocked because the creator of the model said you weren't allowed to use it commercially like that.

@justnormalkorean @leyonhjelm @LordOfTheKangs the funniest thing to me is when a very obviously independent business has a tip jar. Like bitch, I'm already paying you a lot for the food and all of that money is going straight to you. What do you need a tip for? It's just paying extra on top of what you're already paying.

I tip pizza delivery drivers, musicians/entertainers if they're good, and waiters/waitresses at sit-down joints but that's about it. And yeah usually it's about $4-5 regardless of how much I spent. Usually that ends up being 20% or more.

far be it from me to complain because i'm not smart enough to do this shit, but the guy who made a kingdom hearts mod that fixes a lot of stuff and gives a lot of QOL updates is working more on a weird fucking minecraft kingdom hearts mod than the steam version of his fixes >_>

i was originally waiting for the mod to come over to the steam version to play kh again, but i think i'll be waiting another few years if that's the case.

with ffxvi coming out soon on pc though i'll probably not be playing kh for a while anyway. unless i want to try beating kh1 within the next few weeks lol but that ain't happening.

@LukeAlmighty when you have dozens of posts every single day being like "build this for me pls" it gets annoying, especially if you already have plenty of FAQs and nobody even attempts to use the search function. i don't blame them one bit. at the moment, buildapc is supposed to just help you decide between a few parts in your build and get some technical specs and other opinions on parts. pcpartpicker exists, it's super easy to use, and if you're a little over your budget then maybe you can go to buildapc and ask how you can get it underneath or if anyone has some other recommendations.

just doing a simple search for "best pc 1000 budget" already returns tons of results. you can just look at the dates of the articles/posts and see if they are recent enough to pay attention to and then look up prices on pcpartpicker, go from there.

this happens on game dev forums too and i see people complain about it. where someone asks the most simple question known to man without first searching for it. then these people bitch and complain when users tell them to just search for the answer and try it out themselves before coming to the forum to ask people about it. "what do variables do" idk maybe look at a single tutorial before asking people to spoonfeed you information?

people who are already on pcpartpicker or the ltt forum i think are much more likely to sort of know what they want a bit more than someone going to reddit of all places so it's probably easier to deal with. in fact, i'd be surprised if ltt forum has very many posts like that. it seems to be more like tech support for very specific issues.

in short, it's still a reddit issue, but it's not a buildapc issue. it's the people going to reddit to ask questions that already have been answered hundreds of times.

@LukeAlmighty that can be positive sometimes too though.

i made the music for god's disdain in one month. just banged it out. i knew i liked what i was making otherwise i wouldn't have published it, you know, but a lot of it i will still listen to and be like "wtf I MADE THAT?" now that i'm detached from the process of making it i'll listen to it and be like "damn this is good."

i've already started to feel that way about the game sometimes too. i forget some of the things i've made in the game so when i stumble upon them i'm taken aback and i'm like "damn that's cool!"
