i've been in the rpg maker community since the 2006 and indeed, i remember the french community being pretty large. there was a little bit of crossover into the english spaces. i mostly remember that the RPG Maker XP scripts and resources were always either in english, japanese, or french haha.

if you've heard of hylics, the first one was made in RPG Maker. the LISA games are made in it too. so you can do some pretty insane stuff with it. i just wanted to make a default ass RPG though lol.

a lot of other people worked on it besides myself, most of them are my friends or friends of friends. i'm very blessed to have started development in a little pocket of time where they were all not so busy with families and stuff. they all helped a lot.

Having a hell of a time with DK Bananza so far! This game is absolutely massive and there are so many things to do, plus the digging mechanic is actually way more satisfying than it has any right to be. It feels like every little thing you do is meaningful. This is the Nintendo I love. Huge levels of polish.

Of course I have only barely scratched the surface, so maybe it will get old after a while, but I can recognize already that there is a big difference between the gameplay loop of this and something like Tears of the Kingdom. Just the fact that there is skill point progression is a massive upgrade over, say, Mario Odyssey.

Super glad I picked it up, haven't had this much fun playing a video game since Kirby and the Forgotten Land.

@sun @mangeurdenuage youtube is notorious for comments just not going through. they can be totally normal comments and they'll just get sucked up in a vacuum. the live chat is horrible too, it has a memory leak that has been around for years.
